Does dubstep and MDMA go hand in hand?

i would say 95% of ALL great revolutions and advances in music in the last 75 years have been inspired, created, and produced by those who are either ON drugs, have been on drugs, want to be on drugs, or regularly take drugs!

stimulants work especially well with electronic music.
hallucinogenics work especially well with psychedelic music.
psychoactive sedatives work especially well with reggae and down tempo.
and booze works well with punk rock!

though all are not mutually exclusive!!

Quite true.

I think whatever music you love can go hand in hand with MDMA- MDMA was used and enjoyed long before raves, or EDM.

I know I found an even greater appreciation for EDM once I tried MDMA, absolutely amazing combo for me, but my favorite music as always been house music.

IMO dubstep sounds like shit unless you're on ketamine, and it still sounds like shit when you're rolling IMO.

Dub and E is definitely an amazing combo. Electro house is my favorite to roll to, then dub.

I also love trance, but don't like rolling to trance. Trance is great for booze though, IMO.

Dubstep is one of the only genres of music I DONT enjoy when on MDMA.

I kinda like it if Im smoking strong weed or on psychedelics. Im sure I would like it on K but I dont do that stuff.

Oddly enough, I like trebly melodic live music on MDMA. I like bass on acid. If Im going to listen to electronic music on E, its going to be remixes, mash ups, house, techno, or trance.

going to my first psytrance night without MD or an alternative on Saturday... should be an experience haha but I do listen to it all day sober anyways :) watching people running around gurning their heads off and tripping balls will be weiiiiiiiird

IMO dubstep sounds like shit unless you're on ketamine, and it still sounds like shit when you're rolling IMO.

^^^
I agree with this statement.

dubstep sounds better when you're on downers
music with a fast beat (techno, house, trance) sounds better with uppers like mdma
Just find out for yourself if you don't believe me!

If it's live on huge stacks it's amazing while rolling.
I saw Excision on some mints a while ago and felt fucking amazing from the bass wobbles alone.
DnB or faster EDM goes better though IMO.

I don't really get dubstep as music to molly on. It's too slow and stoppy-starty. I think house and trance are much better suited. House has that loved-up "we're all as one" vibe and infectious beats which makes you feel "fabulous darling" whilst the various trance forms have the driving energy and euphoric builds which suit the rise and fall of the trip.

Dubstep seems more suited to weed if anything. It also seems to have gone almost comical in it's search to produce the dirtiest bassline possible. It's beyond silly. It's a bit like how breakbeat went with every producer trying to make the most macho hard basskick and snare shot. To me it's a mix of rhythmic drabness and overproduced effects. I cannot find the heart or soul to it at all.

I'm not the worlds biggest psy trance fan but I'd rather dance to this gem: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k00Zrc2iXUM rather than this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFu2DfPDGeU

When I read my post it sounds like I think breakbeat is drab - I don't. I was referring to dubstep. I likes the breaks! I quite like the some of the stuff coming out of people like the Equalizers and Magnet Men.

Listen to those and tell me your brain wouldnt explode if you were on MDMA whilst listening? The synergy with the two is next to none. Hard trance is amazing to listen to on MDMA but if I had a choice between trance and dubstep it would be no competition. You dont need any effort to dance, you just feel the music and skank the fuck out, letting the inner "mess" in you out for all to see.

I went to see excision one time. I was rolling balls and it was probably the most intense musical experience I;ve ever had. It was so loud I could feel each hair on my body vibrating.

MDMA goes with any kind of music.

Just listen to what you like the most and it will make it so much better. Better than you could ever believe.

Thanks for this. However, the current trend of this drug appears to be people that listen to dubstep/go to dubstep nights. Why is MDMA taken at these nights and not say in an R&B/Hip Hop club?

Omg when I'm rolling I need some hard motherfucking house!! I can't take that trance and dubstep crap. Id kill myself if I was rolling and locked in a room playing that garbage. Hardhouse is where its at!! Sorry if I offended anybody just one mans opinion ;)

^^^ I feel like I'm following you with the last 3 posts but hard house is amazing when rolling...I do enjoy trance also but only because it makes me feel like I'm floating with the music hahaha...

^^^ thats cool gives me someone to talk to while im at work. Lol

I'm not familliar with the rules are we allowed to post dj names of who we listen to?

Of all the electronic genres (house, progressive, techno, trance, dnb, dubstep) dubstep is my least fave. I don't dislike it it's just not at the top of my list. I find it awkward to dance to because a lot of the time its too slow of a beat. I don't mind listening to some good dubstep songs but even on mdma I find I still have to force myself to dance to it lol.

But to each their own! If you love the music, you'll love it even more while rolling.

I don't see the connection. Molly goes better with deep house, progressive trance for me. I really enjoy dubstep sober though, heh. Too bad it got so commercialized the past year.
