The reason for the "itches" is because opiates release the natural histamines in your body. I was once told if you take an antihistamine with an opiate it will reduce the icthing. I not sure about this because I've never tried it.

I dont get the itches much. I think I itched more on codeine than anything else. Although, I havent done morphine yet, I heard you can get the itch pretty bad on it.
 
The itching can bother me its self but i usually only itch when im really wasted so i like it as a sign that i am proper wasted lol
 
I never itched with hydrocodone or oxycodone but boy do I scratch a lot with Morphine. I dont itch much when im on it but several hours later. Even in my sleep the entire night, haha!
 
I can't stand the fucking itches man. Its usually worse when my tolerance is very low. The worst was when I railed some H, I was at my friend's house and I kept scratching my nuts and inner thighs. Eventually I scratched my thighs so hard that I got red, bruise like marks on my skin. They weren't scratch marks, I wasn't bleeding. But it was like a bruise from constant friction from my nails. Anyways I practically had my hands down my pants all night long from scratching my nuts and my legs, and this is a total buzz kill. He was like "don't touch anything in my house until you wash your hands" LOL!!! =D

I mean initially its like scratching an itch hard and it does feel good to remove the itch. But the itch keeps coming back again and again for the NEXT 3 FUCKING HOURS. At that point the opiate has almost lost its recreational value :(

I am doing some Kratom right now and I am experiencing the same fucking shit. Its not nearly as bad, but I managed to have to whip out a tube of Benadryl anti itch cream. Luckily it was just my right arm that was itching... not down there.... and yeah, I've put it "down there" before.

I guess the itchies do represent one good thing. It usually means that my tolerance is low, and I haven't used in while. Back when I was on 90mg of oxycontin a day, my itches were non-existent.

I have extremely sensitive redhead skin, so when i get the itch i end up with raised welts from scratching, it's like scar tissue for 20 minutes.
 
Hahahaha the itch was one of my top 3 favorite things about being a dope addict!!!! The itch went away pretty much though : (
 
I hate it, I itch way to much and have scratches all the time when I take too much :/
 
i don't get the itch every time..
But when i do get it.. it's mainly just my nose that itches.
and i end up walking around looking like Rudolf the reindeer. haha
 
Does anyone else enjoy the itching?

After taking codeine or DHC i get itchy (I know it's a common side effect) but does anyone else think its kinda nice? :-D
 
YES! I thought I was nuts :p but I love the itching, its like a good tickly feeling almost. Tbh everything feels good on opiates, ive even accidently str8 cut my hand befor, blood was pouring out and it actually brought my nod up
 
peronally with the H I been using since june i havent felt itchy but when I use to get oxycontin and snort it i would love the itch, my nose and face would be a comfortable itchy it was enjoyable.

I used to love it when I was just starting out but now it just seems to add nausea to the high. So every time I take an opiate I gotta take some benadryl along with it...and like spacebound above said it's especially annoying at night when i'm in bed.
 
hate it, hate it, hate it!!!
ergh it annoys the shit outta me. after a nod, the next day i'm left with scratches all up and down my body, my back looks like its been attacked with whips!
and i tried benadryl, and it doesn't help for anything.
if someone knows a way to stop it, spill the beans lol :\
