Hello everybody,

I recently went to an endocrinologist to get my testestorone levels checked. I just got my test results back and have question concerning my amount of testestorone.

First of my stats are:
-23 years old, male, lifting for 3 years
-Weight of ~77 Kilos (169lbm) @ ~ 10% BF, Height 181 cm (~6,0'')
-good nutrition and enough sleep
-never did steroids

For some time I have been suspecting my testestorone levels are too low. Even though I put very hard work into my training and nutrition I am unsatisfied with my training results. Furthermore I show some signs such as bad sleep, no real beard growth.

So after I got checked my results are the following: 348 ng/dl for tesosterone;
free testosterone did not get checked unfortunatly.

The doctor said these test levels were normal, but after doing some research on the internet I am not so sure anymore, since some sources list the average testosterone of mid twenties should be around 650ng/dl.

So my questions: Are my test levels really normal? Should I just accept the fact that my doctor said these levels are within the normal range or should I try to do something about it (i.e. visit more endocrinolgists, get more opinions).

I would greatly appreciate input from guys who know stuff about hormones, I know there are plenty of people here on this board!:)

Thanks guys

You're pretty much at the higher end of the spectrum for what is considered hypogonadal. I think you should go back to another endocrinologist and describe the symptoms. The thing is, all labs have their own reference range for what is considered normal. It's fucking retarded. A 2nd opinion wouldn't hurt. Are you using any recreational drugs? How is your unsaturated fat intake?

I know there are plenty of people here on this board!:)

When you compare it to the number of people who actually know what they're talking about, it's very slim.

How is your unsaturated fat intake?

My diet is pretty spot on, I cook with lots of olive oil, supplement fish oil, eat some nuts and often cheese to get my fat macros.

Are you using any recreational drugs?

Not really. I do smoke cigarettes from time to time, but not that much. Also about every 2 weeks I do go party with friends, i usually get somewhat to very drunk. I know this isn't optimal, but it is important to me to stay in touch with my friends and going out for drinks once in a while can't be the sole reason for my low test.

When was the test done? Because testosterone levels are always highest in the morning and they dwindle down as the day goes on.

The test was done at around 10 am, so it was in the morning.
