Testing for 4-AcO-DMT

So I have some 4-AcO-DMT and I was wondering how I could test to make sure it is 4-AcO-DMT. I put some in water and waited a couple of days, the water turned black. I have not heard of any other research chem reacting this way to water, could this be a good way to test to make sure it is 4-AcO-DMT?

Just take a threshhold dose ( check erowid) should be about 10mg. At the doses 4 aco dmt is active at, there will be no harm done if it is anything else and you will def know if its 4 aco dmt. Even if it was something else, im sure it wouldnt be something that completely awful.

Unless you got it from some sketchy friend or some random dude off the street i wouldnt be too worried. If you bought it off the internet at what looks like a legit site, which most are, its probably what they say it is. If they didnt sell what they said they were selling...there would be no reason for returning customers which= business failll.

Have fuyn with that stuff man! Im hopefully going to be able to purchase some soon.

Mod edit: This is terrible advice.

I bought it from a very trusted and reliable vendor online. My biggest concern whenever I take research chems that I bought online is that the batches got mixed up. I would rather not take 10mg of anything as a test because if the baggie got mixed up and has DOI or any NBOMe in it that would be terrible. I already tested this by taking 1mg and then 10mg, i saw some visuals but not much. I was just curious for future orders if this is a fairly airtight way of testing it without ingesting it.

Bad advice, honestly. In the last couple of years there have been multiple incidents of compounds being erroneously labeled by vendors, which resulted in several deaths. There's a sticky thread about that at the top of the PD forum, actually...

Always take a sub-milligram dosage of a new batch of any compound, and work your way up carefully. Blindly assuming that the compound is indeed what the vendor claims is extremely naive.

Aye, you best be listenin' to roger's advice, matey.

Given the number of compounds floating around with doses in sub or single digit milligram range these days (and even if there weren't it's still smart), you don't want to risk taking 10mg of 25x-NBOMe or DOx compound or anything like that. Putting blind faith in some random person over the internet who you have no way to hold accountable is simply foolish, you have to treat these things with caution.

Yes I realize that, I certainly do not want to be on a 36 hour intense trip. But the way 4-aco-dmt reacts with water seems to be unique to 4-aco-dmt, so what i'm saying is that this could be a preliminary test for 4-aco-dmt right?

I dunno, kind of, a lot of different organic compounds are not very stable when dissolved in water. I would be wary of saying that such a crude test is suggestive of anything.

If you want to be more sure, buy a few different reagent tests (mecke, mandelin, ehrlich), and comparing the results of the different tests should give you a ballpark idea of what it might be.
