How to make the comedown from hell better?

Hi,

So I was partying with friends this weekend. Thursday night I took 4 molly capsules; 2 to begin the night and one two hours later and another one an hour after that. I drank a bit and smoked some weed as well. Friday night I did coke for the first time, about 1/4th to 1/3rd of a gram and then had 3 molly capsules. Drank and smoked some weed. Got up Saturday and did one line of coke at 3 PM and smoked some weed and drank a beer. I felt fine until about 6 AM on Saturday when I threw up. I felt better and went to bed. I couldn't eat anything on Sunday or Monday without bad stomach cramps and throwing up.

Tuesday the horrible depression set in. Crying jags out of nowhere, feeling of hopelessness, ect. I also felt lightheaded and dizzy. The physical symptoms don't scare me as much as the mental. I'm guessing I caught something viral from someone; it's the winter and flu season. What is scaring me is the crazy depression. It's horrible.

I don't really do drugs frequently (I roll maybe 5 times a year, smoke weed and drink 10-15 times a year). I've never rolled before two nights in a row.

My comedowns haven't been like this before. Usually I'll get a couple hours of restless sleep the night I'm rolling, do a couple of things the next day and then sleep for 12 hours and feel a little shitty the day after that. VERY mild compared to this shit, where I'm crying at a drop of the the hat and feel like complete shit, borderline suicidal (not going to kill myself but definitely feeling the nothing in life is worthwhile, everything sucks, ect).

Any tips or advice or ideas on how long this shit is going to last before I start feeling stable? Anyone know from experience what triggered such a bad comedown? Was it rolling 2 nights in a row, mixing drugs? Or was it just the comedown from the coke? Other people rolled 2 nights in a row and did some of the coke with me and they seemed fine.

Thanks in advance.

I'd say it's most likely the weekend long binge that's got your comedown harder than normal. Also, for me, coke always gives me horrible comedowns (why i stopped doing it years ago), but usually coke doesn't give me depression for days...that's probably the multiple molly doses over the few days causing that.

First, try not to think too much. It's hard to do, but try to stay busy with work, exercise or whatever will keep your mind from being idle. Obviously, your brains in a state that's going to slant your thinking very negatively...why I'm saying try not to sit around thinking too much. Maybe listen to some music too...that seems to help me a lot...and get some rest. Hang out with your friends if you can...that'll also keep your mind busy. If you need to, you can try some 5-htp, which has been somewhat helpful to me in the past in speeding recovery.

Just give it a week or so and you should notice things slowly improving...the negative thoughts will become less frequent and you'll be fine. Next time, don't binge for multiple days unless you're willing to pay the consequences ;-)

Probably a week or more.

7 pills, 1/3 gram of coke, weed and booze then didn't eat for two days. I can't imagine why you'd be feeling bad....

Eat, sleep, exercise, and remember that it's going to pass. You just went overboard. The only time I've rolled with less than a 2 month break was a little rough for a week or two. I rolled off 1 cap, a few weeks later off of 2, and 2 days after that took another 2. I don't ever drink while rolling, I did once several years back and I felt like I was gonna die the next morning. It also really dampened the effects of MDMA for me. Just stick with once a month MAX, once every 2 or 3 months being much better. I can't really comment on cocaine. I did it once, didn't care for it. I also passed out in the middle of my friends kitchen a few days later, apparently I was convulsing:\ I haven't touched cocaine since then, although I have several friends who enjoy it on occasion and have never heard of that happening to anyone cause of cocaine. At least not 3 days later.

eat healthy, bananas are good for come downs i find, etc. omega 3. exercise if you can manage it. lots of sleep

As dan said anyway,

Bananas,
Also tuna, chicken, turkey, salmon, cheese, dark chocolate,

Sunlight is important too

You need to wait at least a few weeks in between sessions of taking mdma.... You have to give your brain a chance to recover or else you will completely deplete your brain of serotonin and dopamine for awhile. You'll feel better, it will just take time. baby yourself, and sleep a lot. Plan out your roll next time! Don't roll two days in a row!

You might want to read through this web page just to see what's actually going on in your brain when you take mdma: how ecstasy works

It might help you feel better about your post roll depression... knowing that its all a part of the after effects of mdma, and most of all that it's only temporary. Treat yourself with kindness, you'll be ok. Give it some time. You buy the ticket, you take the ride! As I always say.... :D

Feel better soon <3

Interesting how so many of these threads are popping up.
I have been in ED for a year now without ever seeing so many!
And once again, the OP does not respond vigorously to each post - as is typically the case.

I do suspect a troll.

Regardless, to the OP...
You didn't mention ANY estimates on the quantity of these caps of molly.
Dosage with ALL drugs is very important.

With MDMA re-dosing is the most reliable way to cause modifications to the serotonin network.
This method is used in MANY lines of research.
It is much easier to cause 'toxicity' with repeated doses, than with single high doses.

Yes, cocaine the day after was a big mistake.
The serotonin and dopamine networks have a very complex relationship.
In most of the brain, serotonin directly inhibits dopamine.
One theory of MDMA toxicity involves the substitution of dopamine into the serotonin transporter - so taking a dopamine agent could increase the toxicity of MDMA.

Mixing any stim other than caffeine with MDMA is foolish.
But the real damage was done by re-dosing with MDMA so many times.

Taking lots of anti-oxidants right now can't hurt, but it is too late for them to really help.
Anti-oxidants and piracetam right after the last dose would have been a good idea.
Piracetam might make you feel a LOT better even now, but it will not repair damage.

If you are feeling suicidal, I recommend the piracetam very highly.
It can increase anxiety for an hour or two, but it offers GREAT relief from anxiety after that.
Just remember, if you have done real damage to the serotonin system - it must be re-wired.
There is no medication that can substitute for this process.

This includes SSRIs, which are often without benefit in former MDMA users.
ECT has shown real efficacy, but most doctors will attempt pharmaceutical intervention first.

In my experience most MDMA users that experience bad comedowns recover within the first week or two.
If you still feel horrible after a month to three months, then it can take up to a year to normalize.
fMRI scans and psychological evaluations support the 12 month timeline for those truly being 're-wired'.

Exercise is the greatest ally you have.
It releases a serotonin nerve growth factor, BDNF.
It also increases dopamine supply, which may be hindered by altered serotonin transmission.
It also causes new blood vessels to sprout, eventually increasing the mass of the brain.
And STEM CELLS are released in the hippocampus and olfactory bulb, allowing for neurogenesis.

Very healthy diet is important.
Eating crappy carbs will increase serotonin activity in the brain, NOT what you want.
Lean protein will provide all the tryptophan you need - taking 5-htp can make anxiety worse.

Try to control your anxiety as this may be important for preventing glutamate toxicity.
Relaxation techniques or just staying busy can help - but exercise is always best.
Short-term use of benzos are VERY effective at reducing glutamate, but long-term use will INCREASE it.
Be very careful.

Fish oil and turmeric are the BEST supps you can take, hands down.
But exercise is always the greatest ally.
Do NOT take any more drugs, esp. MDMA or cocaine for at least six months.
If you take a long time to recover, that needs to be much longer.

Good luck.

Thanks. :)

Blah, I'm feeling kind of upset because no one warned me! :( I even asked people who were more experienced than me if it was okay.

I'm not a troll. I had class all day. O_O

I did ask at least two people if mixing coke and molly was smart and everyone was like yeah, it's perfectly okay. Pretty much everyone at the party had more experience with drugs than me and assured me it was okay. Also, I didn't take 7 pills in a night, it was over the course of 2 days. There were two other people who rolled with me two nights in a row and did some of the coke. They were feeling fine.

I am feeling better, not as teary-eyed and super depressed. I feel somewhat depressed and anxious but was still able to function.

That was super helpful. I didn't know that re-dosing with MDMA was more dangerous. Honestly, I let my friend pack them. He's a pretty long time user and has a degree in Biology, so I assumed he knew what he was doing. I also just went with the flow of the party; when people would take another pill so would I. I'm not that frequent of a user, so I guess my tolerance was way lower. I don't plan on doing coke again, it's just not something I like enough to do it. Thanks for the advice. I'll try to hit the gym today for at least a little while. You've got me worried that I broke my brain. :P

Thanks for all the replies. They helped make me feel better. :) And yet, somehow worse because I feel like a complete dumb-ass now. In my sad defense, I asked people if it was okay and they were like yeah, it's cool. This should be a good lesson to do my own damn research. :D My friend who's been using for some time was shocked at how shitty I was feeling. I have to remember everyone reacts differently to drugs and not to take their word as the gospel.

You can't often rely on drug users for safety advice. People initially approach them with caution but after they realise they ain't gonna die all of a sudden they quite often lose all respect and start taking them like smarties. The only measure they are using is how high they are, not basing it on any knowledge of harm. I was one of these people. I stopped worrying about the danger and just took whatever I wanted whenever I wanted. How we survived the 90s I've no idea. Pure lunacy looking back.

Coke users are the same. They seem to think that as long as they keep it under 1/2g for a night that it's like drinking moderately - quite safe. But it's not. It's a cardio toxin even a lowish levels and if you use it regularly you are very likely to be damaging your heart. A friend of mind just died at 40. Keeled over in front of his wife stone dead. Heart attack. He was otherwise fit, lean and healthy. But he did coke a few times a month for about 10 years.

I get the same feeling after a heavy weekend, leave it a few days and just eat healthily and youll be better by wednesday im sure, have fun.

Ketamine is always good for the comedown, get nice and wonky and helps you chillout, or take some diazepam i guesss
