Datura-Like Dreams on Demand
It was fucking frightening. I awoke eventually, and i was speechless except for the word "Fuck..." for about half a minute.
I went into this experiment with a positive attitude and looked forward to dreaming every night. It was almost like a psychedelic trip every time I slept, literally anything could happen.
...
My recommendation for those who stop smoking is to mentally prepare yourself for these dreams and look at them in a positive light. Obviously, some dreams can be terrifying, but more times than not I had some pretty crazy dreams that I really enjoyed. It can actually be a fun part of your quitting process, and I would even go as far as to say you should write down your dreams so you can read the absurdity later.
Hear here.
I am so glad that someone posted a "Trip Report" on the Psychedelic Effects that ensue with the cessation of long-term cannabinoid receptor agonism. It's hilarious. I completely feel ya brothers/sisters!!
The phenomena is so amazing; I am very impressed with adrandell's planned experiment and expothead's unplanned one.
I have been through this many times, as an individual who initially started regular cannabis at ~11 y.o. and continued largely unabated for ~3 decades, believe me when I tell ya' that adrandell nailed it on the head with that description.
I no longer use cannabis, haven't for about a year, and only very rarely use JWH or other CB1/2 agonists, but the contextualization of cannabinoid receptor agonist withdrawal as a "Trip" couldn't be truer! LoL. It is kinda fun, in a Datura sorta way.
Every night for a week or so the dreams are simply amazing. Like +++ amazing. I would experience them during forced or voluntary periods of cessation, and once I knew what to expect, I would treat them just like a Trip that I knew was coming.
The "lolly/jaw" dream was a great example of what to expect. Ha. Not fun if you don't know what's coming, but you get some experience under your belt, and you start to consider them "Freebie Trips".
Anyhoo. I just had to pop in and crow about the lovely, dark and oh so realistic bombastic barrage of dreams that ensue once a long-time head decides or is forced to go without their cannabinoid receptor agonists.
Highly recommended!! I suggest more folks try adrandell's experiment, but of course you first would have to build up years of tolerance and dependency before you can enjoy the Datura Dreams that come from stopping the 'Noids!
