looks like the goverment is doing the divide n conquer.we have it over here where things are fcuked up but the private sector are fighting with the semi state.
There's a good few call centre jobs I could get round here direct with the companies, I know lots of people that have recently. That's all anycunt does round here is work in a fucking call centre. I know I could pass the interviews no bother & I've worked in call centres for ages (too fucking long!) so I know how to do the job, I wouldn't need call handling training etc. Quite a few are through agencies but you don't work for the agency, you just get the job through them & then you are a proper employee of the company the same as everyone else. I got my old job at HSBC through an agency but once I'd passed the interview I was just a standard HSBC employee, I had nothing more to do with the agency.
Practically all of them would involve some sort of sales though, which I can't fucking stand.
So they use agencies to employ people then once you get the job they make you a proper employee? Doesn't make much sense. Why even have an agency in the first place doing the hiring. There's a few call centes round here and they all use agencies, you work AT the company full time but work FOR the agency. It's the agency that pays your wages and is your employer. You always work at the same place and could potentially do so for the rest of your life.
spade. have you never heard of a "recruitment agency"? what you appear to be describing is an "employment agency" (who probably also do their own recruitment, but not necessarily.)So they use agencies to employ people then once you get the job they make you a proper employee? my boyfs experience suggests that til you've worked for a specific agency and got decent feedback, they will offer you the shittest jobs. in the year he worked in bristol he was not even offered permanent posts, as they learned he was good he was getting the higher paid ones. when he arrived in leeds, even going to agencies he had good feedback for in bristol, he was told point blank 'we have nothing but call center work.' he took a large risk by refusing call centre work and ended up in a 'halfway house' role, employed directly not via the agency. now off the back of the good feedback from that, he is totally out of call center work and has a far better paying role, again employed directly. having less than a month unemployed in the past 2 years, and all that work being for known UK employers probably helps too.
so if they tell you they only have call center work, what they mean is that as they don't know you and the other roles are so sought after, they will not risk their reputation by putting you forward for them.
so again, its all about sticking with things. the more you do for them, the more they do for you.
also- employing you by an agency can cost more- for every hour you get paid, they get paid. after you've initially been placed by the agency, the employer would save money by employing you directly. i think they do it this way so they can sack you on the spot if they feel like it.
Buy and sell stuff. Ive been my own boss for 15 years and made a good wage. With a bit of outlay you can make a profit. Invest £20 in something
and see if you can see a £20 profit. * look at Alan Sugar *
