Snellville police said a dog was hit by a car and injured Sunday night after being given LSD.

Police were called to the 2100 block of Pinehurst Road around 8 p.m. after reports of a naked man and woman running down the road.

According to Captain Harold Thomas, officers knocked on the door of a house and Nicholas Modrich answered the door naked.

Thomas said Modrich and Jamie Hughes, both 25, told officers had taken LSD and had given some to their dog Oscar, who was missing.

Officers began to search for Oscar, but learned he had been hit by a car on a nearby road.

After being hit, Thomas said Oscar bit Modrich's mother and brother.

Gwinnett Animal Control took Oscar, but Modrich's family requested he be taken to a private veterinarian, police said. His medical condition is not known.

Police said after a search of the house, police found a bong, marijuana and Gummi Worms, which were allegedly used to take the LSD. However, no LSD was found in the home.

Modrich and Hughes will face drug charges upon being released from an area hospital. They may also face animal cruelty charges.

Smoking your pet's out is one thing, giving it acid is something completely different >.<
"i have a problem with their drug use just not my drug use"? it's funny that you would draw the line in a place that makes you a good pet owner and those guys abusive pet owners. i agree with tripman - giving animals drugs is irresponsible.

aside, why on earth would you think that "pet's" needs an apostrophe? it's just "pets". i'm sure you don't want to reinforce the stereotype that stoners are stupid? :)

I wasn't attacking them for their drug use, but their judgment of drug use. If you feel you would like to shotgun your pet to see if they like it, that's one thing. Weed has absolutely no positive effects for our animal friends, true, and if they don't like it then it would fall into animal cruelty if you continue smoking them out. Acid however can have profound negative effects on animals, there's no reason for the dosing. It can only do harm. If you can't distinguish the two and think I'm setting a double standard for my own conscious then your'e way off.
And the apostrophe was a typo, but thanks for catching it, I'm sure many people would have made the connection that stoners are stupid without your correcting. :)

those cunts don't deserve pets
nor functional legs of their own.

very, VERY few things make me want to get violent. shit like this is one of them.

bigben, you're a fucktard.

Under no circumstances should a pet be fed drugs which are used by humans. This includes blowing cannabis smoke in a dogs face. Its cruel, immoral, and who's to say that consumption of the chemical by the pet is not going to lead to complete freak out, long term health issues or even death of the animal.

Take chocolate (Theobromine) for example. Relatively safe to humans, but dangerous to dogs in relatively small quantities. Who's to say other chemicals won't have a similar effect?

Feeding pets drugs is effectively animal cruelty. If I had a pet, I'd take similar precautions as I would to having a child, regarding drugs.

perhaps i didn't make my point clearly enough - i was highlighting your hypocrisy for criticising somebody else for giving their dog drugs when you do the same thing.

you don't know what effect pot smoke or acid has on a dog so you're basically making assumptions and using your own shoehorned conclusions to rationalise that what you're doing is acceptable but what they're doing is not.

It's not stupidity. It's an internet compulsion. People have gotten into the habit of unconsciously using apostrophes when constructing plurals. I'm seeing it everywhere. I wonder why it's so pervasive.
