After 9 years of abuse im clean. 7months sober.
Well I do take suboxon 16mg and I snort it. But if thats the worst of my use im doing great. Im stable. However Every day I wake up with body pain. Soar arms, legs, neck, all my bones hurt. I have trouble just walking, any time I sit up it hurts. If I lay down its hard to move at first and im only 27. On top of this my right leg keeps swelling up. I cut all my salt, cut my smoking by 2/3 I cut my energy drinks down from 8 to 2. I don't drink coffee anymore. Lots of protein, water. I don't get this swelling of the leg.
I do eat a lot of sugar, I have gastric bypass (So i malaborb everything I eat) I have low iron. But my blood tests are good, no doctor knows why I got the problems I do. Im scared. Im scared im going to wake up one day and my leg will be really bad (it used to swell so bad it ripped) it has been doing better but its swollen again today I don't know why. Mainly only the right leg swells. I don't know whats going on. WHY body pain, I got sober.. but I never got better this time *sigh* im so depressed right now. I just feel like giving up. Im not sure what giving up means yet but I know my options are limited. I got money right now, but I have no life. My problems hold me back. Every time I get better or get a break something else happens. Right now my teeth are my huge issue, plus healthy problems of leg and pain. Plus my sugary sucks, it hurts all the time, I can't just eat normal food and enjoy my self.. I just am sick of this..

Could suboxon along with lomitil cause leg swelling? give me some hope some idea because im really lousing my grip. In the next two days I move and if it goes bad.. I just think its going to be the last straw and you might never see another post from me again. I might just fade away back into my addiction. *sigh* I don't want to but whats the point of trying anymore? Im not recovering, I am broke.

Its like a lot of things are doing good but only when you compare it to how horrible they wore. Im not where near my life 2 years ago. Im worn out at 27 its not funny. I got a lot going for me but its just not enough anymore. I need my health back or .. i dont know.

good shit being 7 months sober!!

why not make a doctors appointment to get your leg looked at?
or go to the ED if its really bad.

do you have someone you can talk to about how your feeling?<3

If there are physical effects such as severe swelling of your leg, I would return to a doc that can diagnose better. Blood tests don't cover everything and the problem may have nothing to do with your sub. use.

I wouldn't cut ALL sodium, you still need Natural sodium to hydrate your body. If you have a food absorption problem, start drinking plenty of vegetable juices (I blend then strain with a coffee filter/strainer), because it's much easier for the body to extract nutrients from a liquid.

Also, definitely cut down on the sugar, my feet swell when I eat too much sugar because it increases your blood pressure..so yea, I would say you'll be fine, just work on your dietary habits

sugar really? .... My blood pressure is always good however I will say I have increased my sugar intake a lot.. in fact I had a lot of sugar for me early today... could it be so simple? I mean as soon as I cut salt (to much salt not all) as soon as I cut salt my leg went to normal but today it swelled again... its very depressing. I have been to the ER a ton of times of leg swelling (when it was worse) and its always a healthy diagnosis and send me home. I have been to the doctor alot. I don't have insurance just medical and the doctors are not great. I just wondered of suboxon on top of lomitl plus sugar could account for the leg. Its only the right one that swells. If it gets bad bolth swell but its mainly the right one. But its not water its two buldges in my leg plus a little swelling all over but its like the leg goes from strait to curved. Its odd. I used to get strait water swelling where I could make a imprint of my finger in my leg but its not like that anymore it looks like swelling from a infection but I know its not. This has been on going for around 5months. I have had leg swelling for the last 2 years always from drinking but it always went away after a few weeks. This time I got sober it didn't go away. Its not harming me but its bothering me because here I thought I had the problem fixed (salt) and to get it again today is ... very hard on me. There is to much shit going on in my life. I should be moving in two days but the guy im moving in with is telling me his roomie will be out in 2 days but hes not. He hasn't moved, he isn't moving, in fact he keeps bringing more things in. It sucks this guy was cool and he gave me his word over and over I would have a place to move. I gave 30 days notice. No I got no one to talk to. My roomies got there own problems and they are quite selfish and childish. I been to the ER to many times its pointless. They always send me home. *sigh* I will ask for more tests in a week when I see my doctor... its just ... dam dam dam.. I am a good guy I don't feel like I deserve this. And this constant body pain is horrible. Its hard to walk, to sit up, to lay down, I can't lay on my arm or it hurts. This never has happened before it came up like two months ago when I over did it one day and I got soar all over, and it just never went away. I also been getting random panic attacks, so bad I went to the hosptial thinking it was my heart. My blood tests said I was fine but im wondering with this constant right leg swellings... what is going on!!
Its just after 7months of doing better then ever in 9 years its very very very hard having my body falling apart on me. Im 27 ... this isn't right. *sigh*
If this move doesn't work... I just don't know.
Thank you for replying ... I feel pathetic right now and weak, I know I was heading to a early grave with my drinking and drugs but .... I feel like im dying anyways whats the point anymore.. why? I work so hard to be a better person, to do good, to keep my word, to be healthy... I try and try and try and its like one step forward two back.
*sorry* I should don't know anymore.. its wierd I was feeling so good about things but this leg thing just kinda fucked up my out look on everything. its amazing.. wow.. I feel so bad. I just want to be ok

is there a mental health line you can ring?
sometimes i find just having a rant to someone totally helps.
im 24 and have chronic pain in my wrist and the doctors havent been able to find anything
wrong either. it can be really hard sometimes huh?

Bro I suggest you make a full list of symptoms before you do anything.

If you are getting body pain chances are lots of other things are going on that you have just been so use to that you don't notice anymore.

Do you have an abundance of white hairs on your body? Does your blood pressure bounce up and down throughout the day rather than just be high or low the majority of the time? Do you have problems sleeping and is it easy for you to wake up in the mornings?
Even on suboxone how do you tolerate changes in temperature? High sugar diets are known to cause a wide host of problems and honestly sugar almost has a more corrosive effect on the body than opiates do. It can alter a lot of different functions in the body and cause so many horrible things to happen.

How is your vision? Do you sweat a lot? Do you get headaches more frequent than you'd like?
How are your energy levels throughout the day? Are you more energetic early in the day or later? If its later in the day that is sign you are likely already experiencing negative effects from the sugar.

Do you have cravings for salty food as well as sugary food? Sugar will offset literally almost everything in your body. Potassium, magnesium, it will make you sodium deficient as well and make you crave salty foods a lot of people don't know this about eating too much sugar. Along with that it will also effect your entire endocrine system and knock your hormones out of wack.

Random and frequent unexplained body pains are also a symptom of this like you mentioned. But besides the pain did anything else I say align with what you experience on a daily basis?
Sugar is one of the primary reasons imo so many americans are in the condition they are (more than eating too much fat). Obese, high blood pressure, hypertension, sleep issues, its not from the direct effects of the sugar but how it effects your organ functioning, then how your organs begin to lose control over maintaining homeostatis in your body.

Let me know if you're having any of the other symptoms I mentioned I'm really curious. And eating too much sugar long term will also make you feel thirsty a lot and like you always feel dehydrated. Although there is a progression to all of these symptoms and I did not list them in any particular order. But if you're having any of the symptoms I mentioned please let me know.

wow i had no idea sugar was so toxic. i mean do u hav to eat tons of it to have a noticeably bad physical effects? i mean he's only 27. i see junkies at the MMT clinic who just live on sugar and i dont hear any complaints of swelling. could the sugar be balanced out if one eats some healthy food to kind of counteract it?

i think Bojangles had the right idea on asking more questions and then to present the entire case to a doctor or two doctors to begin the investigation. can u exercise at all? if so, does that help?

FYI..... a lot of water, a lot of sugar, and not enough salt causes water-retention and cells to accumulate waste.
If you go on the WHO website, they have a basic recipe for a simple rehydration drink. It's intended to help treat cholera, but it also goes into how it works. Before then, I didn't know much about salt/sugar and cell H2O osmosis & function.

It can be just as dangerous as too much salt.... not to mention making it hell if you've got wacky blood-sugar levels at times.

Syptoms.

Body pain/ joint pain/ soar body
Very tired through out the day (more energy at night)
Ability to fall asleep whenever just by closing my eyes
When falling asleep my body twitches and my mussels spasm a lot. Feels like punches.
Horrible Time Sleeping (can fall alseep) but wake up often all night long every hour
Pee a lot (take water pills though)
Swelling of the right leg (only) most the time
Thirsty often (drink lots of water/milk) "gastric bypass requires you drink lots of water"
Crave salt beyond the normal human, used to drink top ramon seasoning packs strait (I love salt)
(old symptom was I used to get color problems with my sight and blurry vision I don't notice it anymore though)
I often feel wrong, or off. I don't feel good often.
I wake up easy I can stay up easy though at night I will go out to smoke and Nod off like im high or something
I have poor vision
im weak to the point its hard to sit up at times or move its like my body gets stuck and I have to move my leg with my arms just to unstuck it.
Im very sensitive to temp changes, getting to hot, then to cold often. I often am changing from pants to short, from socks to sandals, from sweat shirt to tee shirt. often.
I get dry hands and had the feel of paper (weird I know) I always find my self using lotion on my hands because they feel so horribly dry to me.
I was told I had sarosis of the liver at one point though live functions are ok.
I have no appendix of gallbladder.
I have horrible memory, and often mix things up (words places)
I also recently got a few bad panic attacks where I thought I was having a heart attack
I have low iron and low blood count. ... thats it.

I snort because I don't like absorbing it the reg. way. I think im wasting the pill and I don't like waiting that long, and I hate the taste and I hate waiting to eat and I just don't trust it.
I got other issues but not sure which ones are a cause of my sugary gastric bypass or which are possibly a sign of something going on right now.

Have you been checked for deep-vein thrombosis? that could account for your leg and some other things.
Diabetes?

Being anemic can also account for a lot of chronic-fatigue-like symptoms.

I am anemic. I didn't have diabetes last time though when I was 455 pounds I had it. It went away with my weight loss but I guess its time to check again. I will ask my doctor about the vein thrombosis. Thanks for the info guys, thanks for trying to help. ... I guess I just can't give up yet.. I still got a lot of things to look into. its just frustrating how all the doctors think its something different and how nothing has worked just yet.

Question. I read a add for this pill that puts nitro oxide into your body improving mussel, blood flow, helping you work out longer and building you up with out even working out. is this BS? Its from GMC its real and it has awards and stuff. I just wonder if it really could work, and help. I don't work out much but if its improves blood flow maybe it would help with the leg.

Some of these symptoms do sound like diabetes unfortunately. You should for sure get that checked out.

To answer the why I snort question again (answered above already) I snort for lots of reasons.
Above all else I think habit. But I like to have something to take all day long. Im used to taking pills all day long and snorting 2mg lines all day long makes me happy in a sense. Its not healthy im sure but its what I need to do right now to keep off other drugs and booze. I also hate how long it takes under the tongue I hate the taste, I worry that im doing it wrong and its not working as well. Also I have been having a lot of dental work done and often its hard to keep a pill in my mouth with gauze and wholes and bleeding and such. I like how I can take 2mg at a time and stop when I feel I have enough (saving some of my dose) if feel like it works better.

I am working on not snorting it, I am trying very hard to get into the habit of taking it like normal but after so long of doing it my way its hard to break the habit. I got a lot going on right now... lots of stress.

I will take everything everyone said into account when I go see my doctor thanks for the advise. It really helped a lot. Im under a huge amount of stress with my move, and my health, and some other shit thats going down. Im about to start work.. im trying my best to just do the best i can and its not easy... I mean ... its weird...

Im not used to life. Im used to drugs.. I don't even remember much from my youth or childhood. I don't have many sober memories ... this is new to me in a lot of ways..

Well thanks.. later

Yes I can attest that all nitrous oxide supps will not do shit to you. Ok let me rephrase that. There are actually a couple that are effective, like superpump 250 and another one I can not recall atm. But nitrous has its limitations in terms of what it will do to your body.
I WILL increase blood flow, it will also act as a major vasoconstrictor which is how all those NO compounds work. As such yes they will improve your work outs, but will NOT lead to a higher state of anabolism. Which means they will not build you up or promote muscle growth. Only steroids can do that. And only steroids can build muscle tissues w/out changing your regime. But doing steroids and not working out would not be a wise decision.

I would only take them if you plan on working out religously otherwise they won't do really anything but give you horrible sideeffects. The number 1 side being diarhea/increased shitting/urination and upset stomach which use to happen literally everyday for me when I was on them. The shitting and gas also gets out of control and it does not feel nice. And I have never found a working NO supplement that did not cause it.

They are very limited in their effect is the point and no those claims have not a shred of scientific proof to back them up. When the FDA does not review them don't forget these people can legally claim almost anything they want. As long as they put a simple disclaimer on the bottle they will keep doing it too.

You probably snort Suboxone because it's part of your addictive behaviour. That's just a fact. It doesn't, however, make you abad person, but you should address it because it is damaging to your health. Also, it's not true that you are absorbing more
of the active ingredients by snorting the tablets. That's your addiction talking and just pill-head lore.

If you find the sublingual orange tablets offensive, then ask your doctor to write the script for the dissolving film form instead--they are virtually tasteless and dissolve in seconds.
