Tripping when sober

OK straight to the point...I can trip when sober, I see things morphing, moving, patterns etc...(the main traits of a psychedelic drug). I remember reading up on this (or something similar) a while ago, however I can't remember the name to do any research on it.

Anyone shed any light please?

I notice this too. Ever since I tripped for the first time, and I understood what the OEV's looked like, I feel like I can't 'unsee' them. Granted, things don't move, distort, and melt as severely as they would when fully immersed in a psychedleic experience, however if I sort of let me eyes relax and just focus on an object or area, it will start to morph and distort in ways that closely resemble the OEV's on a phenethylamine. Shroom visuals are slight different, but for some reason, ever since I first tripped on 2C-E, I feel like it's permanently burned into my perception.

And I'm ok with that. It doesn't get in the way, and also makes for something fun to do while you're sitting there waiting for something, like at the doctor's office or whatever. I'll just watch the carpet patterns swim and morph all over the place, etc.. :)

It's great that there is other people to relate to this with, and what you have just described is perfect. The visuals that I get when I'm sober, if they happened whilst I was under the influence of a drug, I would probably be amazed if that makes sense.

I was laying on the floor with the dog earlier looking at the lines on the ceiling, I concentrated for a few seconds to which the lines started moving down (I can also determine which way they move, its really weird), looked away to the patterns on the wall which then started moving/morphing. As you said, it is no where near the extent to which I see stuff on psychedlics though.

I have the same but only cevs. it's like my mxe use has learned my eyes to see 3d when my eyes are closed instead of just a black flat wall like before. Can get really annoying when im trying to go to sleep.

Interesting. When I first started reading up about psychs, before I ever tried anything, I read up on people's descriptions of CEV's and kept thinking to myself "I thought that was normal...". I always have had intense CEV's when I close my eyes my whole life, at any time, and I remember during my childhood, watching the "movie behind my eyelids" while I lay in bed not sleeping. Colors swirl all around, geometric shapes, tunnels of light and color, sometimes even faces. When I take a psychedelic, it only gets slightly more vivid and exaggerated, but it's the same movie.

I wonder what causes this?

Those aspects certainly aren't the main traits of a psychedelic (for me at least). Its the crazy-thought-weirdness/mental state that defines a psychedelic, with the visuals being just one part of that...But yeah; are you using lots of psychedelics at the moment? What ones have you tried?

Yeah I can appreciate that mate.

Here is a list of ALL of the things I have used lately (psychedelic or not):

6-APB (Last consumed about 4 weeks ago)
Ketamine (Last consumed about 4 weeks ago)
Methoxetamine (Last consumed 1 week ago)
MDMA (Last consumed 1 week ago)

I have used MDMA for the past 4 weekends in a row (stupid I know). I use Methoxetamine maybe every other week. My last use of 6-APB was, as I mentioned, about 4 weeks ago but was at a stupid dose (Full on hallucinations, comparable to LSD for me). Out of the things I have mentioned, I could actually most certainly put it the visuals down to 6-APB, as the visuals I get whilst sober (words are actually dancing around on my screen as I write this), are identical to the visuals I get on 6-APB just to a lesser extent. Up until my first 6-APB trip, I had never experienced such visuals, even from my only LSD trip.
