If someone were to be withdrawing from alcohol, what effect would a moderate dose of orally administered oxy have?

I am by no means an expert or totally knowledgeable with alcohol withdrawal but I would say if you are not opiate dependent and have no tolerance to opiates; a moderate dose of oxycodone I assume would very much ease the WD pains, and possibly allow you to sleep if you cannot.

If you have a severe alcohol dependence I would seek medical attention to properly manage your withdrawal as this could be fatal.

Personally, I would take the oxycodone so long as I haven't been drinking.

I think that would be a good idea.

Alcohol is a GABAnergic, like benzodiazepines, so I know how bad the withdrawal sucks. Opiate addiction is fucking wonderful comparatively (of course you won't necessarily get addicted).

IIRC Opiates lower your seizure threshold, so taking an opioid during alcohol withdrawal might not be the best idea.......but if it is only a mild to moderate withdrawal then idk. I would still stay away from it.....

Are you sure about this? Not saying I don't believe you, I've just never heard this before. I can't think of a biological reason as to the cause of this...
