Tot dies after pill bottle "rattle" pops open.

A 13 month old baby died after apparently shaking a prescription bottle which popped open. The pill bottle was given to the child by the father. The father apparently gave it to the child as a rattle. They took it away when they noticed the top had fell off.. Source: The Daily

Researched a little because i was curious what it was, one of the articles I read said they were "painkillers" didnt get any more specific then that. I think there's more to this than stupidity. I'm not saying it was infanticide, but look at this detail:

When the boy's mom stopped hearing it rattle, police say she went to check on him and discovered some pills had fallen out. She picked the pills up, gave the baby a bottle and put him to sleep.

Corollary: A woman puts her baby in a crib. Walking out of the room, she sees a scorpion run across the carpet. She shrugs and leaves, reasoning that the scorpion probably won't bother the baby.

And I'd be pretty sure that the toddler wouldn't want another one assuming that it chewed the pill up first. If it ate 5, and they were all chewed to a paste, i'd honestly be amazed. I understand if it was something like an Oxy 80, or even an perc 10, but I'm just assuming that the kid wouldn't really enjoy the taste of bitter-ass pills and going back for seconds. Unless, of course, if it was a Klonopin. Those things taste great.
