IIRC, oil mixed with unpressed bubblehash is known as "jelly hash", and apparently it works quite well.

We used to get kilo's of black hash in the early 80's with a dragon stamped into the top of the brick (always w/ a combination of 4 different numbers)...friends couldnt believe we only charged em' [the prices of an ounce of good mids - no prices - sorry, chainer] an oz. We made all our $ back selling (give er take) 14 oz's. - 20 ounces for free (3 roomates) talk about "those were the days"...
Oh yeah, the dark red bricks were even better. It was Berrian County Mich. A major hub.

that's insane. I don't understand how that could possibly be cost effective, wouldn't it take pounds and pounds of decent weed to do a decent extract? Or am I just ignorant of the method used then?

Yes, you are correct -no ignorance on your part (alot easier to conceal) Good S. American bud was rarley compressed. The high was clean/strong.

I don't know much about American geography, but isn't Detroit kind of not on the way to Florida from New Hampshire.

I learned it from sporcle, I'll have you know. I'd also like to point out that they don't teach the relative locations of the U.S. states in our schools because it's completely useless information.
