What exactly is this term 'pins and needles'

Haha I am curious about why you want to know!

Pins and needles refers to parasthesia (see wikipedia article here)

It feels like lots of little needles pricking your skin - it can be mild and a little irritating or it can be really pretty unpleasant! You often get it if you sit awkwardly on a leg and it "falls asleep" - you lose some motor power, your skin is numbed and you get a sharp tingling (sometimes evenn stabbing) feeling over the affected area. It is caused by compression of a nerve (due to sitting awkwardly) and it is temporary. You can also get it temporarily if you hyperventilate.

If it is permanent, it indicates a problem with one of your nerves and can be caused by many different things..
 
Going to crisp my Morphine sulfate SR 100mg as soon as I get it, then inject, as long as it's safe for me to do :). I've never IV'ed morphine, but, I'm going to start with 50mg, just to gauge it.
I'm not excited about the P&N effect, though!
 
"Crisping and injecting" is not safe; don't inject morphine (especially extended release morphine) without micron filtration and letting the solution cool fully.
 
I'm surprised you haven't heard of it. I'm sure you're familiar with the actual physical effect, just haven't placed the name :P
 
It's morphine SR, not ER. What other ways can you actually IV these without crisping? I read on opiophile and they all said it works good.
 
SR is the same thing as ER. The method does indeed work; but it's unsafe to inject the resulting solution because it will evcentually cause venous damage from all the particulate and shit that accumulates in the liquid as the wax and binders cool. If yyou "shoot hot" as it were you also risk having the wax gel back up inside your veins.
 
By crisping do you mean heating? Heating directly so it goes crispy?? Not heard that term before, sorry..

However, the advice is the same - don't heat pills. The morphine is water soluble in cold water; heating causes other unwanted substances that damage veins to also dissolve (such as the waxy stuff in MSContins or nasty filler/binders). Heating like that also will not sterilise the pill.

SR= sustained release, ER=extended release. They are interchangeable terms as far as I know - depending on the brand/pill, one or the other (or MR etc) will be chosen.

Sekio is right - always use a micron filter when shooting pills as it stops any filler/binder (especially talc) from entering your bloodstream and lodging in your lungs where it causes a lung disease called talcosis/pneumoconiosis.

Well, I've never shot morphine, so I'm either going with crisp, or I'm going to try this-

This is the best method ime and ive used it on the M's, ABG's, and for the first time today in fact the endos.
But there are a few little tricks ive picked up along the way that I think makes it a much more fool proof method, and those are when boiling the water in the spoon without adding the morphine yet to use a candle ( i use those stupid little "tea lights" ) so that you can keep the heat on the spoon while dumping in the powder ( this buys a little more time to draw it up ). Stir the solution up with whatever you like to use (i prefer the plunger from another rig) remove from heat and draw up using a rig with the cotton allready stuck on the needle (again buys a lil more time and makes it much easier to draw up).

You should end up with a nice fat shot of morphine that has the same viscosity as water, and if you got it right the shot shouldnt get thicker as it cools it should stay nice and water like. Now i highly recommend squirting the solution into a clean spoon and re-filtering cause the abg's and mallies will be kinda milky looking and the endos will be slightly colored ( i had the 100mgs so it was kinda blue ). After that tie off and enjoy that wonderful rush.

Do not heat pills, and use micron filters if you are going to shoot a pill.

Not heating pills includes not heating the water in the spoon then transferring the powdered pill while it is still hot.

I explained why.

If you are going to insist on ignoring advice and posting up dangerous methods of preparation I will close this thread..

edit: saw you posted only just after I did, so will give you the benefit of the doubt that you missed mine, but Sekio said the same thing.
 
The human eye cannot see either dissolved impurities or suspended particulate if it's fine enough. Just because your shot looks like it's clear and safe to inject, that's not a guarantee. As effie said, talc among other things can build up in the lungs and cause damage, and some insoluble fillers increase the risk of stroke by directly blocking small arteries and veins when they are redistributed through the body. In the end, it's your veins that are taking the damage, not mine.
 
Eugh, I get it everynow and then, but never as bad as when I inject morphine.
It's like a whole body's tensing each muscle as hard as possible, and getting pricked, and it lasts for a few seconds.

But once it goes away, it's like the biggest... aaaaaaaaaahhh yeeeeeeeeeaaah :)

Well, describing it that way, I've had that. It's like around my arms / shoulders get REALLLLLY tense, and tired at the same time, like I just ran 30 miles and now I'm exhausted, it's uncomfortable, but then, woosh, heroin :).
 
sit on your foot for about half an hour.. once you get the feelin back in your foot you'll get "pins and needles" personaly.. i like it :) !
 
I get this all the time sitting in front of thid very screen, I got up a week or so ago and it was so bad in my leftv foot \I couldnt reallt feel it at al, I though I could make soemkind of effort to walk to the living room but fell at the last and badly sprained my ankle, its still a bit swollen now.

Pins and needles ....its no joke, be careful out there people:)
 
The feeling of "pins and needles" in relation to junk, is definitely not the same feeling as a limb falling asleep. I thought for a long time they were, until I started getting real pins and needles. I'm not sure if it is strong dope, or weak dope, or cut in it, or too much of it, but I know the first time I got it.

It was in a gas station lot, and as soon as I pushed in it was like 3...2...1....OWWWWWWWW. The muscles clenching is pretty accurate, and it feels like your skins is being tightened around your entire body. It is super unpleasant. If I did more than the mild pins feeling, my face would puff up red a bit, which is sketchy.

P.S. Listen to the people in here. Shooting morphine 100's is a terrible idea, without proper equipment.
 
The pins and needles feeling comes from histamine release. When coupled with analgesia it can feel quite nice. It would be annoying without it.

Morphine has always had the strongest histamine effect for me. Heroine comes second.(but that could be because the morphine doses are much larger) The semi-synthetics and synthetics don't really do it for me(or haven't in many years).

Also, it makes you scratch(other opiates will make you itch too, just not strong enough for the "pins and needles"), and scratching reduces activity in areas of the brain associated with unpleasant emotions and memories. Which would make you learn to love the itch.
 
I think pins and needles has been expained sufficiently well, with some added HR about never heating pills and always using a micron filter, for goodness sake, which was ignored ;)
