Statement from the Board of Directors of Bluelight Communities Ltd
The board of directors of the charity Bluelight Communities Ltd have made a unanimous resolution to require Bluelight.org to more rigorously enforce our user agreement. We will not be changing the rules, but will require that the Bluelight User Agreement (BLUA) be fully enforced in all parts of our site.
As directors, we have legal obligations to the Australian charities regulator to ensure that our charity is operating within the law and within the standards of conduct set by the regulator (the ACNC). Unlike profit-based digital platforms, Bluelight Communities Ltd is a charity that is required by law to serve our communities and ensure all our activities are aligned with our mission.
It has been brought to our attention that a significant amount of content hosted by Bluelight violates rule #4 of the BLUA (You may not post or upload any content that victimizes, harasses, degrades, or intimidates an individual or group of individuals on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion...

25 Years of Bluelight!
I am honored and humbled to be able to wish Bluelight this very happy birthday. Bluelight has been around for 25 years now, in various names and forms. BL is older than some of our users at this point. From MDMA Clearinghouse, to bluelight.ru, to our current Bluelight.org. We owe our userbase a massive debt for all of the incredible contributions over the years.
This is one of the most visible and active places on the internet and in the World for harm reduction. BL's legacy is palpable, and it's also still being crafted. Bluelight is truly coming into it's own to this day, now a registered charity in Australia. And the site has always been operated and sustained by it's own members, which has helped build such an amazing and open collaborative community.
This community is incredibly important to me, personally. I browsed the site at a time when I was completely alone. I knew I had a lot to learn about life, but it always felt like the world was holding back on me, not giving me...

So, we have been undertaking and implementing a fairly ambitious endeavor to get Bluelight out there further into the cybersphere, and drive traffic to our forum.
BUT... we need your help spreading the word and building our presence. The louder we get, and the bigger our presence online, the more people finding the forum, and ultimately the more lives that are potentially saved.
It might not seem like a huge deal, and for some, it's not, it's more of a community to engage and discuss with. And that's perfectly fine. But for me, and many others, Bluelight's mission is important, life or death important. And I want to see this forum continue to thrive for years. We are already basically the "Coca-Cola" of Harm Reduction forums, but it's crucial that we don't let up momentum, and we continue to work towards building an even greater website and marching towards the future.

Bluelight has reached a point of importance in its existence, one that brings change which in turn can give a mixed feeling of hope and uncertainty. With Sebastians_ghost retiring and moving on in the real world, we thank him for all he's done in getting the site to a point of financial stability with a clear direction and purpose. As he steps down from his role of Executive Director, the torch is passed to his two closest allies in the effort to ensure Bluelight's mission is sustained and improved upon. In his place, @Tronica will assume the role of Executive Director, expanding her role from Director of Research to a new level of responsibility being the face for Bluelight in the real world. She will continue to coordinate with the Academic realm, while looking to expand our presence through other media and resources so as to extend our reach. On 31 August, it will be International Overdose Awareness Day. The tag line for this year's campaign is - Don't let a day go by without doing something to #endoverdose
It could mean having naloxone handy, or using a reagent test kit or fentanyl strip on your gear, or avoiding use when alone where you may not have someone able to call for help if things go wrong. It could be advocating for safe consumptions sites and drug checking services in your part of the world. Or just sharing solid harm reduction advice here at Bluelight.
Over the years, and especially the last 12 months, we've tragically seen some of our Bluelight friends die from overdose. So let's spread the word and look after each other as best we can - we know harm reduction can save lives.
And on that note, we want to let you know about a Canadian initiative supporting harm reduction called DRUGS the musical! It's a fundraiser for Canadian harm reduction groups, as well as an online...

There are reports of different batches of this compound being wildly different potency and quality. As well there are reports going back months that it has given people organ damage, hospitalizations, and other very serious side effects in standard sized oral dosages.
In addition to this, it is speculated that this is the compound which contributed to the OD of our dear recently departed friend on BL.

I have confirmed this with family. CaptainHeroin, who has been a senior moderator here for so long, has recently passed away from a tragic OD. He has helped me for very many years with harm reduction, along with countless others. He helped me laugh when no one else could. It is with great sadness I announce this to the BL community.
