Drug store cowboys was alright, but basket ball diaries was amazing and obviously trainspotting, read Porno but i heard they're scrapping most of it but keeping some things. comes out in January! can't wait! but requiem for a dream is so good, book is really good too. panic at needle park is worth watching. never saw heaven knows what, next on my list!

Also Walk the Line, Alpha Dog, Easy Rider are all good and loosely related to dope. A Scanner Darkly isn't about heroin but is a really interesting look at tweaker and drug culture in general. Also vice news has interesting documentaries of various lengths. One I watched these dudes camped out next to a commercial poppy field and cooked up homemade dope

yea ive seen that documentry! it was like a "used" poppy field or something, like they already cut it but obviously they wont get everything, if my memory treats me right. but a scanner darkly is soo good! and we all know "it's about dope" haha but a lot of other drugs too, like at the end of the movie (no spoiler) they list all those people that had brain damage and died, but i think they were doing aaallllll kinds of drugs for a long time.
 
My own private idaho, spent a lot time nodding off to that movie. I'm looking forward to trainspotting 2 I read porno almost 10 years ago hopefully it lives up. Have any of you seen "filth"

Trainspotting is my favorite one. Set in 90's Scotland but pretty relatable from my own perspective...the polydrug abuse that often accompanies an opiate habit, the constant ennui and feelings of listlessness, the petty crime, the apprehension about providing a friend with heroin until they flash money, quitting opiates and suddenly having friends quit too to prove that it's "not that hard", etc...some aspects of heroin culture just seem universal and that movie captured it well IMO.
 
Little known but great heroin movie is Christian F about a German dopehead in the 70s.

Idk if they ever translated it but even with subtitles it's my fave dope movie better than requiem trainspotting and maybe even basketball

I saw a movie last night called REINDEER SPOTTING
probably best drug movie I have ever seen..dude ends up hanging himself and I heard
the producer ended up getting 3 years for moving 1200 Suboxones lol.
so my question is anyone know any good movies on Heroin??

oooh yea reindeer spotting - that's the one with all those addicts in Iceland who just shoot up subutex all day right?
that was actually the film that got me interested in trying subs, and now my room is fucking full of them...

funny in't it.//
 
Merged into the existing thread! :) There are a lot of suggestions in here already, a lot specifically about heroin.
 
Tbh none of the movies about drugs I've seen is as good as a movie with that topic could/should be. But if I had to chose one, I think requim for a dream would win.
