Here's a very interesting story that happened to me on the *date removed*, I'll try to keep it as brief as i can.
On *date/time removed* I rode my bike over to my mates house in in *suburb removed*, Adelaide to pick up his 4wd and pick him up from work. I stopped in for two mins to say hello to his friend, grab a beer and his keys and i headed off to *suburb removed* to pick my mate up. I turned on to the road and drove 100 metres up the road and tried to make a u-turn, as i was waiting for the traffic to go so i could turn i noticed a brand new commodore pull up behind me, and i didn't really give it much attention, as the traffic cleared, the commodore put his lights and siren on and a saw the passenger had a video camera in his hand pointing at me. I pulled in the car park and stopped and the car pulled up right next to me so i couldn't open my door. I thought i was in the shit cause i thought it was a rolling RBT, and they had seen me drinking the beer. the driver yelled very politely for me to turn off the engine and put my hands on the steering wheel.
The passenger got out and came over and the driver moved the car so i could get out. Without any explanation the passenger told me he was going to video me, he said i didn't have to say anything, but if i did it would be on record, at this point i realised that it wasn't a RBT, I smiled and nodded and he turned on the video camera then another new commodore turned up with its lights on and two more plain clothes police got out. The driver of the first car escorted me from the 4WD and identified himself as *Snr Det Name*, a senior dectecive from the *location removed* CIB drug squad. He said he had reason to believe that the car i was driving had in it a commercial quantity of amphetamines in it for sale and he was going to search it.
He asked me for my license and told me to stand at the back of the car and keep my hands by my sides. He asked my why i was driving a car that wasn't registed in my name and i told the above story. He asked me if it was my backpack on the passenger seat was mine and i said yes, and he said he was going to search it. The plain clothes from the second car pulled it out and he asked me if i was in possesion of any illegal drugs and i said No. He asked me to stand buy the bag so i could be filmed why he pulled it apart, while this was happening the other two police searched the car with gardening gloves. 30 seconds later the police going through the car gave me back my beer saying they didn't want to spill it, which i though was very nice off them
the plain clothes took ten minutes going through every nook in my bag, he destroyed my packet of cigarettes, ripping it in five pieces, and also found 40 valiums and ten panadine fortes which weren't prescribed to me but wasn't interested in them. My wallet was emptied and he looked at the last two weeks off my diary and pulled out the two *event* tickets. He then explained that he was going to give me a full body search which i agreed, he took my shoes and pulled them apart, and asked me if i had any pockets and i said yes, he pulled my phone out and said he was going to pat me down, as he went to search my shorts he stopped suddenly when he released i had no jocks on. Then he started asking questions about the *event* whether or not i was going, which i though was a pretty dumb question.
The two searching the car then came over and wispered in his ear, and they all looked at each other very confused and the two searching the car shugged their shoulders, The first detective told me he was satisfied that i wasn't in possesion of any Drugs, and asked me where i was going and what i did for a job, another dumb question because he had a very close look at my work ID, and took notes in his book. He then said i was free to go continue, and he put every thing back in my bag and put it in the front seat where they found it.
I then started asking questions like WTF was this all about, he told me he had received information that between 1700- 1900 the 4WD would be leaving the premise with a large quantiy of amphetemes for sale. As they tried to get back in their cars i said "thats not a good enough", and female from the second car told me to get back into my car and go, I said "No, i wanna see all your ID badges and take down all your names and Numbers" the female then tucked in her shirt exposing her firearm and rested her hand on it, which i found very intimidating, i then walked over to *Snr Det Name* the head D and said again " I wanna see your ID", he then said "You had been very coperative with the search and it will be noted, don't make things worse for yourself" then gave me his card, and told me to go. So i did.
five minutes later i realised he hadn't given me back my licence, so i rang the number and *Snr Det Name* answered and said he didn't have it, I told him he did, and i wanna see the the tape form the search, he said he was driving and he'd get back to me, he rang me 2mins later and said i could pick it up from (snip) police station in an hour. Which i did.
*Next Day*, I came back from the bottle shop at 1100 and saw a old magna outside my house with the female plain clothes in it, she took a photo of my bike and speed off as i went to approach the car and ask some more questions.
*snip*
Can anyone tell me what my rights are in this situation, can I get a copy off the tape? Are they aloud to take my licence? Why did she take my photo the next day at my house? Has someone dobbed me In or have my mates and me been under suraliance?
[EDIT: I have edited your post to remove as much incriminating and identifying information as possible, you or one of your friends are quite obviously under surveillance so to post about your activities like this on a public board is incredibly dangerous. hoptis]
