I found the coast bloke neil oliver just as irritating, but then started to like him when he did those programs about archaeology and history (history of the celts was it?) which were really good - i guess less irritating when doing his actual preferred subject. Don't much like billy connoly either.
 
+3 for anti-Connoly. Although he's senile now isn't he so we'd better be nice about him? Didn't he just stand there laughing inanely at his own jokes for like an hour? Cue rapturous applause, here have Pamela Stephenson.

And yeah, why is that coast bloke so annoying? He really is.
 
shes a sex therapist ewe know. I really find her offensive sometimes. Especially so when she 'psyched' Stephen Fry when he said his experience of rape werent that bad. Totally dumbed down, predictable and text book. dimwit. Nice tits probably.

I like Scottish coast guy. He's prood tae be scorttish ... ye can tell. I like his passion for narrative description. He sets a scene real well imo.
 
we did many years back tell terrorists we were going to hunt some haggis but had to give up on it due to them being ill and running round the hill backwards :) when cousins came up from down south we used to say to them mind and bring your passport for the ferry to get duty free they believed us, oh the fun you can have.
 
^ Haggises have one leg shorter than the other, which is why they run in circles and are relatively easy to catch (on flat ground, anyway). :)

In other news: Police are hunting two thugs who abducted a seagull from a Paisley car park

Police are hunting two twisted crooks who captured a SEAGULL in broad daylight and made off with the distressed bird.

The men snared the gull using fishing gear baited with bread before catching it and shoving the squawking creature into a black bag.

The culprits struck at the Phoenix Retail Park, in Paisley, on Sunday evening as they were parked in a white Astra van, believed to have a 55 registration plate.

The incident which took place in the car park between McDonald’s and the Showcase Cinema at around 6.40pm.

Witnesses spotted the suspects sitting in the van using fishing gear to target a flock of gulls, which was milling around in the car park near to the fast food restaurant.

The driver appeared to open his window and cast the snare over to the birds.

When one of the gulls snatched the bread, he quickly yanked on the line, hooking the bird, which was unable to escape.

He then got out of the van and grabbed the gull, which was squawking, struggling and in a stare of distress.

He placed the bird in a black bag and went to the back of the van, where his accomplice was sitting in the passenger seat, and placed the creature inside.

The suspects promptly drove away from the car park with the captured bird.

Police in Paisley have confirmed they are investigating the incident and are appealing for help in tracing the men.

The first suspect is described as aged between 20 and 27, around 5ft 11in, of medium build with light brown hair.

His accomplice is aged between 30 and 35, around 5ft 10ins, of medium build and with short dark or black hair.

Officers are carrying out inquiries in the community, scrutinising CCTV images, as well as attempting to trace the owner of the vehicle.

A spokesman at Paisley Police Office said: “We are appealing for information following an incident which took place in Paisley on Sunday, July 12, at around 6.40pm in the vicinity of Phoenix Retail Park.”

Scottish SPCA Deputy Chief Superintendent Tom Gatherer said, “This is a very troubling incident which could constitute an offence under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.

“We are very concerned for the welfare of this bird.

“If anyone has any information we would urge them to contact Police Scotland as soon as possible.”

A spokesperson for the RSPB Scotland said: “This report of a wild gull being captured is alarming.

“Wild birds, including gulls, are protected by law and it is illegal to kill, injure or take a wild bird.

“Apart from anything else, this will cause the gull a great deal of distress.”

All species of gull are protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 and the Wildlife (Northern Ireland) Order 1985.

This makes it illegal to intentionally or, in Scotland and Northern Ireland, recklessly injure or kill any gull or damage or destroy an active nest or its contents.

Can't say I ever got into Billy Connoly either - mainly cos I could never understand a fuckin word he said!

(Wouldn't have minded getting into his Mrs bitd though... ;) )

Appeal after seagull gets head stuck in takeaway box

THIS unfortunate seagull got a bit more than it bargained for after getting its head stuck inside a food container.

The gull was seen in Kittybrewster, in Aberdeen, looking faintly embarrassed after managing to get the takeaway box stuck around its neck like a bib.

Spade's not been on BL since August last year. He had a wee flurry of posting that you missed :p you being of on your haggis irish warrior wanders or whatnot 8(. It was great to have him back, still great craic from him. I miss him too :(
 
I hope he's well. He was, as you say, a major generator of craic. Used to spend hours talking shite with him. Lost touch with him when MSN messenger closed down but his e-mail should be in my hotmail contacts.

Have you heard from him at all? Did he go off travelling again? Probably running his Blackjack scam in vegas :p

I also miss a particular member who actually shares the first name of the person in the story :(
 
I never met spade why did he stop coming? I read some old posts of his seemed interesting enough. How's Felix doing? I se him hovering amonst the bottom. Is he ok? Looking fwd to your hols?
