The band everyone loves but you hate..

Stop reminding, everyone! 😖

I love that track, it's fantastic.

Are they a bit like Men At Work with Land Down Under though, in the sense that they've only done one brilliant track that everyone knows and loves them for, and everything else they've done or tried to do, is just very forgettable?

in the US i think 80% of the population can sing about 10 of their songs by memory, unfortunately

Does anybody here like the cranberries? Cause they make me close the radio each time they put some of their "hits" man . I dont want to be unfair that's just me.

Other than crash, I can’t stand any of his stuff
i always thought his lyric "don't bite the mail man" was funny.

i like some dave mathews, but a great deal of it is boring. i know some people love it. particularly a lot of girls from my high school days. they kind of made me want to like him. his band is pretty talented too. i definitely don't hate.

I really hate the album “marquee moon” by television. Everyone slobbers all over television’s nob for that album but I couldn’t stand it

I love Roger waters

You listen to his solo stuff?

My father had “radio KAOS” on cassette and we’d listen to it sometimes, as I remember it had a couple good songs but wasn’t super memorable (cuz I’m struggling to remember any actual songs from it lol)

I like him generally speaking though, or at least he comes across well when he gives interviews or when he does his activist thing, even when it’s causes that I may not be totally behind…it seems like it comes from a genuine place for him

Metallica. Most overrated metal band in the history of metal. Also, James Hetfield is an asshole for bullying Jason Newsted. I'm glad he founded his own band and no longer puts up with his bs.
Ever hear the band High On Fire? Definitely not for everyone but if you do it's a perfect glove. Heaviest band without tipping unless you really like black metal or punk screaming stuff.

I was born in '87 and I hate power balads but like power metal generally. Best band to answer question is probably Five Finger Death Punch. Also Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Linkin Park, Nipple Sack, Toto, the list goes on... Favs are High On Fire, John Frusciante, and Fantomas.

phew haven't heard fantomas in a while. i've had good luck impressing the gen z kids with faith no more, though.

linkin park is a meme now, it's great

Yes I know High On Fire and yes I really like Black Metal (although I'm very selective because there is a lot of crappy BM music out there).
Lately I've been more of a funeral doom metal listener though. I love the atmosphere it evokes and that it takes patience to listen and enjoy these songs. This here is my all time favorite song and always will be:

The lyrics alone are on a level of deepness that most bands wish they were on:

Eternity has no bottom
It is the breath of a dying sun
Exhaling its icy last gasp
Above the pillars of the dark corruption
Hanging low in the vast nothingness
Symbol of destiny - mirror of the ages
Eternity is an illusion
Burning quickly away into molecular shadow
There is no measure of it; it's depth in endless
It is in the eyes of all who see
Elusive, the antithesis of light devours life
And eventually, eternity shall endure
When all else has fallen to myth;
And no dream is left to believe
Eternity is dust - a churning sea of pale dementia
Burying, reaping beneath the ashen shroud of heaven
Desolate father of all time
Awaits the final breath...and stands a lonely vigil
To greet you in the inevitable darkness once again

I'm not too into black metal but that's sick as hell! Blessed Black Wings is High On Fire's most black metal album I think.
