holy shit tell me about it. I swear methadone is the most unpredictable thing. just like hdoubleOH said sometimes it lasts 24hours, sometimes it doesnt. I fucking feel perfect some morning others im in full w/d sweating feelings gross wanting to purge waiting for my next dose. I always feel lethargic to like your saying which is why I WANT OFF of methadone and I want to detox and try bupe out and see if it works for me. I just have an issue with vomiting

If you used MMT as prescribed and didn't try getting a buzz by manipulating your doses and adding benzos and/or alcohol... Theres a good chance you're gonna like subs better. If you still fucked around on MMT [like me] you probably won't like subs. IMO.

Well, you can try and abuse Subbies just as much as any other opiate. The fact is, once physically dependent on this drug, not having enough of it became a major facet in life. So, you have to ask yourself, can you go 36 hours without methadone? When, you are already complaing that your dose is not enough.

Also, Subutex has a 30ml Methadone peak of absorbtion into the blood stream to the brain. That info is from Bluelight.ru posters. If it is true, perhaps the drug is not for you...

Final word: Being a baghead like me is not a life to offer anyone. There must be a cure. And that is the aprt of you on the inside. So, be brave, and a tough little solider, to quit altogether and stop looking for that high and get your feet on the ground. Maintenance doses. Baby steps. Spread out further each hour until you no longer feel the urge to use anymore.

Now thats some good advice and I'm surprised i've never thought of it. I've been down as low as .25mg [on .50 now] dut wasn't able to stablize on the 25. Next time [if there is one] I'm going to stabilize on .25mg and then each day push back my dose by an hr. If it works... after 24 days the dose would be every other day and that would be a good drop off point for someone like myself.

suboxone questions.

I tried the search feature but its not working on my phone for some reason. I've been doing roxys about 60mg a day for about 6 or 7 months. I know its not the most crazy dose you've all seen but I get some nasty withdrawls, and I want to get opiates out of my life for good. My friend gave me 2 8mg suboxone the ones that you put under your tongue. Now everyone tells me different things so I came here to finally clear things up. I'm wondering if I take half of the strip at a time, how long it would last plus if that would be enough for my approximate dose. Also will I get high off of the subs? People said I could be high for 2 days and others said I wont get high at all. I'm also going to wait to the withdrawls get real bad before I take it, that be the smart thing right? I only have 2 and they are real hard to come by around me so I want to make sure I do things right the first time. Any info / tips would be appreciated thanks.

On 60mg a day of oxy, you probably won't need very much suboxone at all and 4mg is certainly overkill.

1mg will probably hold you just fine and you can gradually taper from there.

Thanks for the link amapola - I'll merge this in there.

EDIT:

For future reference, the sub mega thread is virtually always on the front page and if you click the directory link at the top of the forum (or in my signature) you can easily access every major mega thread and there is a great list of threads organized by individual topic as well.

1mg will def be enough? Will I feel "high" off the sub sorry if its in that thread im using an old ass cell phone and its taking forever.

1mg will be enough to hold off withdrawal. I doubt you'll feel much beyond that.

Hey is it possible to get onto Bupe Maitenance while being on non prescribed bupe?
like would i have to straight up lie about being on bupe atm?

They will ask you at the clinic, what other drugs you have used/are using, etc. This is to make sure they don't give you something that will provoke a negative or unexpected reaction. It is best to be honest, and at least say that you have tried buprenorphine, and that you experienced no negative side effects. The first dose you receive from the clinic, will likely be monitored - as in they will check on you periodically for an hour or so after dosing, to make sure they don't send you off into the world with fatal side effects. So you don't need to come totally clean, although pure honesty is always best. What the clinic needs to see, is that you have an opiate addiction, and that SUBSTITUTION therapy is the way to go for you. So telling them that you are already self-administrating bupe is probably not going to go down well...

so i was off bupe for 10 days and feeling pretty good then got back on for 5 days only taking about 1-2mg a day in those 5 days anbody know how withdrawals will be? im expecting they'll be pretty weak since it was only 5 days in a row

or will i go back to how i felt for those 10 days after being on it for months?

IME everytime you use opiates after getting clean they lead back to withdrawals, maybe not as intense as the first time, but just as long for me, especially if youve only been clean for 10 days, ime thats not even enough time to completely go through withdrawals from bupe....

^ You're saying after getting clean, then using an opiate (full/partial) recreationally once, you experience a withdrawal syndrome again after the drug wears off?

I think I finally did it. . .

I finally got back on Suboxone after using heroin for six months. What a fucking ride this has been. I felt shitty for the first three days after getting on Subs but now my mind and body seem to be getting back in order. Today is the 5th day since my last shot. I feel good, and I feel like things are getting back to normal. Heroin came very close to ruining my life, and almost killing me. I almost OD'ed once, and almost went into anaphylactic shock another. Even through that I kept using and it finally took what I see as a fucking miracle to get me straight again. My little sister ended up finding my dope and needles. :( After a lot of introspective thinking and talking with my family I've finally been able to stay on Subs for more than 72-hours without relapsing. I deleted my dealer's number and all that.

So, hooray for being (sort of) clean and hooray for Suboxone! =D

Question about the effects of snorting sub:
I've had sinus surgery twice (sinusitus); once in 2000 and again a year later. I was on allergy shots for a while but have been off for about four or five years now. But now my sinuses/allergies are getting bad, and I may need to see an allergist or ear, nose and throat specialist. Does anyone know if there's visible damage from having snorted subs/oxies? I've only been on subs for a month or so, and usually take it sublingually, though sometimes intranasally. Before that I snorted oxies every day for many months.

Yes, unless it has been MONTHS since my last use, then I can get away with one use with just a bit of restlessness after it wears off, but If I use two times in a row no matter how long I have been clean, or how low the doses (they cant really get that low though as tollerance doesnt ever seem to leave for me either, even after over 3 years clean time....) I will absolutely get withdrawals after two consecutive uses ....

Thats just me though.

Wow that's a dismal telling if that's in the cards for me too.

I had always hoped that when I eventually came completely off whatever opiate, after a fair bit of clean time, I could use normally in the sense that it would take repeated exposure to opiates to get me addicted again.

Do you think there are deeper neurological implications here? I think with any drug, especially when that drug is administered REGULARLY for a long period of time, the brain has a way of adapting in the short-term (while still receiving drug), and fucking you in the long term. =D

Long story short kids: do NOT get onto Suboxone if you have not had considerable time already addicted to some opioid. :\
