I'm not sure what is going to grow best in SA, but these are some of my favorite strains:

Gorilla Glue #4
Gorilla Glue #4 (also known as GG4) created by GG strains is a Sativa-dominant hybrid, a multiple award-winning strain, famous for its high THC content. It averages 18 to 25 percent THC, but you may find it as high as 32 percent at some dispensaries. The CBD is very low, ranging between 0.05 and 0.1 percent.
This strain gets its name because of the resin that collects on the scissors when trimming. Gorilla Glue #4 has several parents due to extensive backcrossing – Sour Diesel, Sour Dubb, Chem’s Sister, and Chocolate Diesel.
The hybrid strain has won awards at the 2014 Cannabis Cup in both Los Angeles and Michigan. It has been described as a bunch of trichromes with a few buds, leaves, and stalks sticking out.

The aroma is very strong and is mostly diesel with notes of chocolate and coffee, although sweet and earthy is also used to describe it. You’ll be going back for seconds due to the full-bodied and flavorful smoke. The buds are green with orange hairs. It is very dense, spongy, resinous, and covered in trichromes.
Gorilla Glue #4 makes you chill, medical and recreational users, both. It gives a full body melt, despite the Sativa-dominance. The body effect may be a result of the THC/CBD ratio, the terpene profile, and/or the synergistic effects of the cannabinoids. Along with the body buzz, expect uplifting, cerebral effects. Not exactly a strain to use in the morning, Gorilla Glue #4 is more suited to a day off from work or to end the day.
Recreational users will find that the buzz goes straight to the head. The effect is heavy-handed as this is a couch-locking strain. You will feel the effect immediately and it will “glue” you to the couch and deliver relaxation and euphoria.

Tangerine Dream
Tangerine Dream is a sativa-dominant hybrid with an unforgettable taste. Created by Amsterdam-based seed company Barney’s Farm, it is a cross between G13 and Haze descendant Neville’s Haze. The strain offers a bold citrus flavor profile as well as a clearheaded, well-balanced high that keeps users both relaxed and alert. This tasty variety won First Place overall in the 2010 Cannabis Cup. It boasts an impressive THC content that hovers around 25%.
Flowers of this strain grow large and chunky, with a dense bud structure that’s more typical of indica than sativa varieties. The leaves are forest green, with some phenotypes showing traces of dark purple. This latter color results when pigments called anthocyanins are brought out by colder than average temperatures during the growing process. The flowers are covered in sticky white trichomes that give flowers a dewy look -- and account for this strain’s high THC content. Orange pistils are threaded through these colorful leaves. The intense citrus fragrance is where this strain really lives up to its bag appeal -- the cured flowers give off a scent of orange with some sweet earthiness mixed in. Many fans also describe a spicy, clove-like undertone, further enhancing the orange top notes. Breaking up the sticky buds yields a more herbal funk, likely passed on from Haze genetics. Smoke hits smoothly and has a chemical-like, diesel taste. When exhaled, smoke has the distinct taste of orange zest, along with a slight tanginess that lingers on the palate.
Tangerine Dream smokers usually feel an immediate head rush that leaves the senses buzzing. What follows is a spreading feeling of warmth and emotional uplift that can be disorienting in the short term. Thought-provoking and cerebral, but still grounded, this strain offers a high that can be as productive or as lazy as users intend. This balance can tip towards a heavier body high in larger doses, however. Medically, Tangerine Dream has application for mood disorders. It can be a source of relief for those suffering from stress and anxiety. Its functional sense of focus may also be beneficial for users with attention deficit disorders. Some may feel a relaxation of tense muscles and relief from chronic aches and pains. If enough is consumed, Tangerine Dream can also be a sleep-inducing treatment for insomnia.
Tangerine Dream can be grown indoors and outdoors, although outdoor growing requires warm and humid climates with consistent sunlight. The short and bushy plants are more characteristic of indica varieties and can easily be cultivated indoors, as they range between 3 and 4 feet tall when fully grown. This strain’s hardy genetics make for thick central stems and supporting branches to hold up the dense buds -- this means that growers may not necessarily need to provide staked supports as plants entering the flowering stage. Flowering happens within 8 to 10 weeks when plants are grown indoors, and flowers are ready for harvest by late October when grown outdoors. Tangerine Dream has a fairly high yield of about 46 to 56 grams (or 1.6 to 2 ounces) per square foot of plant.

OG 18
Smoke your cares away with the ultimate strain for relaxation - OG 18. This indica-dominant hybrid weighs in at 70/30 and will certainly allow you to unwind after a long day with ease. It’s won multiple awards, including the High Times’ Cannabis Cup in 2009 and 2010, as well as earning victories at the Spannabis Indoor Hydro Cup and the Europe Champions Cup both in 2010.
DNA Genetics created this powerful strain, also known as Private Reserve, as a phenotype of OG Kush, bringing along with it some typical diesel like flavors. It ranks fairly moderately when it comes to THC, averaging about 18%, but can create some psychedelic effects if it’s overdone. Buds of OG 18 are sticky and dense with a super pungent smell of diesel and sour earthy notes. While the taste is just as potent, it’s not completely off-putting to more experienced smokers.
OG 18 brings a strong head high pretty instantaneously, allowing any lingering stress or worries to melt away. Don’t expect to be too terribly productive after hitting this strain, as you’re more than likely going to be in an ultra-relaxed state of mind. You’ll feel OG 18 in both your head and body, and while you’ll most likely be pretty sedated, your mind will be happy, clear, and you might come down with the giggles.

As your high starts to fade away, you’ll most likely feel rather hungry, which makes this strain ideal for those with appetite concerns. Others in the medical cannabis community love the stress relieving properties and the overall reduction in pain, inflammation, and help with mental health concerns. Although many find they are clear-headed and euphoric on OG 18, it should be noted that this is still a strong and long-lasting high that will completely calm your body. It’s often used before bed to help with insomnia, although others find they can function fairly normally while high.
OG 18 is cooperative when it comes to growing, doing well in a greenhouse, indoors, or outside. Highly resistant to mold and mildew, it grows best in Mediterranean climates but will pretty much thrive when in the hands of even the most novice of growers. Plants will reach between 3 and 5 feet and put out a pretty decent yield, and its flowering time of 8 to 9 weeks is ideal.

Whether you need to get away from nagging life concerns or you woke up with chronic pain, OG 18 is a jack of all trades. Make sure to use moderation with this strain, and prepare yourself for an uplifting experience that gently and slowly fades away as you come back down to reality.

thanks for all input, will research them and see which will be good for my specific outdoor enviroment. Plus im making the decision to do outdoor only now. higher yields, just as potent as indoor if sometimes not more. But i will still support my local indoor growers of course, we are our own community at the end of the day. Plus i love running my fingers through dirt, must be "the boer" in me.

Anyhow thanks guys. and Keep Growing

I'm so bloody jealous, but not in s bad way lols. I wish i could have all tjst that knowledgeee about weeeed. Uu

Bro @nznity from this years harvest only 7 plants survived. i lost a lot and always do. Thing of the suburbs and different soil types you will actually find in your garden and then finding what plants like it or dont and then compost making before hand for the ground prep and so on and on. its a constant thing but its my passion. Sorry went off topic on my own topic. what i wanted to say that most properly 60-70% of whatever i plant wont make it. sad but just mother nature. a beautiful creature..

Good that you will still support your local indoor growers, because Cinderella and Oger99 are better grown indoor. If you have the Oger99 ready - smell it - its such a fine smell of bananas in combination with limettes. I just had it once and I was so happy just to stick my nose into it for sometimes 10 minutes. It's BEAUTIFUL.

Where do you live? :love::love::love:🌿

I will definitely keep an eye out or even get one of my mates to grow it in there indoor setups. We about 4 growers so far in my own neighbourhood who help each other and share in all ways if you know what i mean. But to be honest i hate bananas, can't stand them but if it's a beautiful smoke then i will always be open minded.

I stay in South Africa where it is completely legal to cultivate and smoke cannabis as aslong as its for personal use and not distribution but im busy applying for a grow permit and license to actually grow cannabis for the goverment but those are long term plans, for now i first need to get to the doorstep, nevermind a foot in the front door but im working on that.

Love my landrace strains and specifically hunting for Red Congoles but very hard to come by, the original i mean.

:D :D :D "I hate Bananas"

The Oger 99 is mixed with Cinderella which makes that smell of limettes additionally to the bad bananas :D

I would give a lot to have it once again, really, I'm in love and I will never forget you, you beautiful OGER99! I miss you!

Yeah, you people are like the "Cannabis Clubs" here in Europe. A few people together are growing and either change them between them or they can also give them to sick people who have benefits from it because it helps them with their sickness. Here it is half legal/half non legal, but they exist and the police are not stressing them.

Cool!

I'm an active member of a non profit organisation called ARGE Canna (www.arge-canna.at). We try to help people to get their prescriprions for Dronabinol and help them for example to get it paid by their insurance. We do small conferences with press and TV, but people seemed to be annoyed, just like "Fuck, I have to be here". They just don't get it. We are supported by 2 specialists - they work multimodally with cannabinoids and sometimes opiates, too, depends on what the problem of the patient is. Also we want real buds in our pharmacies, that's the next topic. But were in Austria here and they are veeeeery slowly ....

Next day or the day after next day we are all exited to see or read something about our press conferences - - - Nothing.
FUCK IT.

But we do not give up :)

I've always been super curious about what Purple Monkey Balls looks like, so.... maybe try that?

I can't lie, though, I really just love that strain's name. I don't have a bucket list but if I did, smoking some Purple Monkey Balls would definitely be close to the top.

[aww nvm, I posted before actually reading the thread. The first three strains that were posted are the ones I would pick for myself: gelato Samba, zkittly zi zi and sherbet power. That's coming from a consumer's perspective, though, not a producer.]

Bin Laden Weed... they don't know about this shit down south

I was like wat? WTF is Bin Laden weed?

That shit is like 3 different kinds of weed man.... grown all together

Some straight fire!
