Russel Brand... your thoughts?

Foreigner said:
I don't believe the allegations against him.

He clearly doesn't respect or honour women's boundaries. That's on camera.

There's nothing on camera (is there?) that tarnishes the testimonies of all these women?

It's he said / she said.

You're saying the women are lying... Why?

I don't know if I believe the allegations, or not. I haven't read exactly what he's been accused of. Not sure if the details are available yet?

Which allegations don't you believe, specifically?

This guy is a self-professed sex addict who gropes women (and open mouth kisses them) without consent on camera. He has also joked many, many times about harassing women and being a predator and even raping women... Not saying that makes him guilty in the slightest, but how many red flags do you need to sway towards believing the accusers?

Some people still insist Michael Jackson was innocent. Maybe he was innocent... Even though children accurately described the skin condition on the underside of his penis. (Not saying they're in the same ballpark, obviously.)

Well right now he's reduced to begging people to pay for 'Rumble Premium'. So only an idiot won't recognise that he's purely making the podcasts for money.

So all of his talk of a revolution is pure manipulation. He owns multiple houses, a large office block he rents out, a pub he rents out, a huge share portfolio and is estimated to be worth £20 million so it's abundantly clear that he's not changed, he's just manipulating people.

I LOVE the way he had the cheek so say that his 'free speech' was being infringed. Rumble is QUITE happy to post his content BUT as it turns out, the income from content is a fraction of that Youtube offered. So he's a rich man begging much less wealthy people to make him even richer.

And of course, it's 'a conspiracy' - after he wrecked his own TV career by being fired 3 times for his own actions (actions BTW he admitted to).

William Pitt noted 'Patriotism is the last refuge of the scoundrel' but in social media, I suggest 'Conspiracy theory is the last refuge of the manipulative, money-grabbing liar'.

Blaming an unspecified shadowy group for someone's career falling apart is what weak people do when they cannot accept that it's entirely their own fault. RB is also so highly insecure - he NEEDS constant attention and obviously he doesn't care if it's good attention or bad attention.

Trial by media for exposing what is obviously going on.

Whether or not he did it is almost trivial in comparison, when compared to the wider picture. Obviously very sad if something did happen, but I've got zero idea.

A lot of people can see that the one world government dystopia thing is actually incoming, and they've not only played their cards but laid most their hand out in the open.

You go round saying shit like that, and stuff happens. Look what happened when I called out the beeb and a fucking reporter replied to me on here. WTF was that all about? Well, it basically proved my post entirely correct. I was noticed, and promptly notified. That's weird as hell. Just read the post if you don't think such strangeness is afoot.

Dark times. Peace and love is paramount. xx

Yes I agree that the moves to attempt to de-platform and de-monetise Brand by the Tory MP involved in 'online safety' and 'Covid Misinformation" (meaning any dissent to the narrative peddled by the MSM) is sinister and they have well and truly overstepped their grounds in this regard.

It is a blatant assault on free speech and an attempt to silence an inconvenient voice of truth telling regarding the lies we are all sold my the MSM.

I don't agree with everything Brand says, but some of what he says rings true, and he has a right to say whatever he wishes to say, in a supposed free country.

The moves to attempt to silence him in this regard are very concerning.

Whether he's guilty of the accusations or not, he still has a right to his opinions, and he also he has a right to earn a living.

It is noticeable that many people's view on this matter mostly seem to boil down to whether they like him or not.

He's always been a divisive figure.

@Tranced As a matter of interest, do you have a link to your post that the reported replied to?

I had a "Facebook FACT CHECK" attempt to censor one of my posts, for posting a meme, taking the piss of the new style weather forecasts making out hot temperatures to look like fear, death, and destruction. Hot temperatures and sunny days used to be cause for celebration, but now it has become something the media tells us that we should be in fear of. You're apparently not allowed to make observations about things like this any more. This is the kind of thing the likes of Brand are absolutely correct about calling out the media on it;s fearmongering bullshit attempting to keep the population perpetually scared of one thing after another.

About the only thing i know about this guy before the alegations is that he married katy perry and that he was a comedian. However after the allegations i read up abit about him and he seems like a creep for sure. Especially when he was talking with andrew tate ffs. Birds of a shit deather flock together i suppose.

It's funny that it's always right wing lunatics that get busted for sex offences. I guess the reason Communists don't go down on these charges is that we actually respect women

I remember seeing all the USSR'S top people, it was an all boys club. Same thing behind The Iron Curtain, except for possibly Ceausescu's retarded hideous wife

And the accusers have a right to accuse him... and his audience has a right to consider the accusations.

What does demonetize mean?

He doesn't have the right to broadcast his opinions on private streaming sites that don't want to broadcast his shit.

He doesn't have the right to attract advertisers that don't want to associate their brand with him.

It is noticeable that many people's view on this matter mostly seem to boil down to whether they like him or not.

I don't think so. I dislike him BECAUSE he's a fucking creep... and also he isn't funny or smart.

As an actor, he's okay. I liked him (to some extent) in Get Him to the Greek and Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

As a political commentator, he doesn't grab me.

As a person, he makes me cringe.

That has zero to do with the fact that he literally sexually assaulted a woman on camera.

Reminds me - a lot - of Bill Murray and Geena Davis.

I love Bill Murray, but he's a fucking creep.

I couldn't be bothered searching for the actual clip because I have COVID and I'm sick as a dog... but check this out.

Do you want your daughter hanging around either of these fuckwits? I sure as shit don't.

They think they're untouchable because they rise to a certain level of celebrity. They are so powerful, they think they can just take advantage of women (less powerful) women.

It is noticeable that many people's view on this matter mostly seem to boil down to whether they like him or not.

Pro-Brand people are distorting their perception of this situation, IMO, not anti-Brand people.

Bill Murray is clearly an asshole and a creep. Same thing goes for Brand. They're shit people. Fuck them.

^ Omfg i remember that shit about bill murray fuck what a creep. These fuckers do nothing but take advantage of women that are less powerful then they are it's pretty disgusting. It pisses me off that he's a creep because now it's like i can't even watch ghostbusters or groundhog day without thiking about the fact that hes a creep. I also remember that his costar from what about bob called him a drunken bully. So i think he's known for being a total cunt

No, I just remember seeing the almost all the people who had any real power in communists countries, and like I edited, they were men, except for Ceausescu's retarded hideous wife

I don't believe Russel Brand is a conservative, and anyways commies never understand about individuality: Russell Brand is a swarmy disgusting waste of oxygen, and one dirtbag doesn't define a particular political movement.

I don't call Ceausescu a Communist. He also fell out with the soviet union before he was overthrown. Women played a big part in various Communist and socialist orgaizations going as far back as the Irish citizens army with women like Constance Markievicz, Ulrike Meinhoff of the Red army faction, Leila Khaled of the PFLP, Mairead Farrell of the PIRA and so on.

No hes pretty conservative imo. His views on women certainly match conservatives

Yep. Richard Dreyfus. Apparently, Murray threw a glass ashtray at his head during that production.

But - like Michael Jackson - everyone loves Bill Murray so much that he can just do whatever the fuck he wants.

Ya apparently he was a real cunt to everyone. I will admit though that he is a good actor just like i admit that billie jean is one of the best songs of the 80's. Jackson may have been a complete pedo but he could write a song ill give him that. You kinda have to separate the art from the artist i guess. I mean i still sometimes listen to bands with fascist tendencies like pantera and mayhem who had 1 member that was a outright nazi. I will even admit that in the 90's had every pantera album so i did contribute financially to those fucks. But in my defence that was log before the internet and long before everyone knew Anselmo was a racist fuck. Why did they have to be racist cunts though? Now i feel dirty listenting to their shit lol

I love Michael Jackson. I love Bill Murray. I love Kevin Spacey.
(As artists.)

Russel Brand is disposable.

Fuck it. I'll admit that I love Lynyrd Skynyrd and The Charlie Daniels Band.

Lol i was just listening to long haired country boy earlier. I still like lynard skinard to. Kevin spacey i fucking hate for his rather shitty depication of Newfoudanders in that shitty movie the shipping news. For that alone he should be in prison imo.

Sorry to break the news to people on every side of and not apart of political views: but perverts, pedos, swarmy scumbags and rapists come from every where on the political spectrum. Dicks don't have a political agenda.

I find RB very difficult to listen to. I posted the Newsnight interview because I found it particularly cringeworthy. I find it hard to believe in someone so wealthy, so enriched by the current system who advocates for a revolution but when asked what he would replace existing power systems with, he laughed it off saying 'well, we haven't got that far'.

It will be interesting to see if criminal charges are preferred. Although attributed to many people, the idiom 'the wheels of justice grind slowly but they grind incredibly fine' has proven true again and again. I don't have the facts so I have to trust that those who do will act appropriately.

I think it's unironic RB quotes like

'"The internal mayhem I'm feeling is spilling out everywhere. I loved it, and felt very connected to activism – particularly activism that feels loaded with potential. Not the oppositional activism that seems like there's a stasis around it – earnestly sincere, but a monolith equal to the establishment."

that makes me classify him as a pseudointellectual. It's only when you actually stop and think that you realize that he's extemporizing in a manner so opaque that it could mean anything the listener wants it to mean.

But MAYBE that's the hook? Maybe people are listening to him purely to enjoy the irony? But if so, he hasn't refined his act for decades. But I have to presume that he's making money from it so I guess their is no point in changing a winning formula.
