I found hallucingens increased my hard drug use....not only do they make hard drugs seem easier/more reliable. (I've never freaked out and been curled up in the fetal posistion of ripping a hit of meth or popping an oxy...) the weird trippy state also kinda reinforced my belife that its my body, and putting whatever I want into it is awwwriiiiiite.

My first love was definitely for pysch's but once I got into heroin and crack I had little time, energy, enthusiasm or indeed money for psych's so pretty much gave up on them for a long time. However, fast forward a decade or so and I was getting pretty pissed of with the whole junky lifestyle, redkindled my love for psych's and this was the final push that I needed to clean up my act.

My story as well quite accurately. Spooky 8o

I've always considered psychedelics "hard drugs", but of course I've never seen an official list.

It's obviously a relative term, very open to subjective interpretation.

Provided the person ingesting the chemical is an adult, I don't see much moral/ethical difference between "soft" and "hard". I suppose if the drug is known to increase violent tendencies (for example alcohol, speed or cocaine), there is an argument against use based on the need to protect society.

As drug users, I think it's odd for us to use terms like "hard drugs" (except in a satirical sense), because such terms were very specifically created as tools of condemnation.

I haven't read this entire thread yet. Has anyone made a viagra joke? If not, please save me time by imagining a particularly clever one here --->

I have a feeling that the term may have originated in the UK, but may be wrong. I seem to recall that back in the 60's, cocaine was considered a 'soft' drug. This was on account of the fact that prior to the psychedelic explosion in the 60's, drug use was more of a medical issue than a legal issue. The medical fraternity considered addictive drugs 'hard', and non-addictive drugs 'soft'. This was when addiction was narrowly defined as having a highly physical component - as with heroin and the very physical withdrawal symptoms that users experience when coming off it. Now cocaine, it was thought, wasn't addicitive. It may have caused intense psychological cravings, but the physical concomitants weren't obvious to (or maybe simply not appreciated by) the medics - ergo it was considered a 'soft' drug.

When the judicial system took firm control of drug use, this all changed. Not that they did any better of course :\ . Class A's became the bete noirs of the drugs scene - the 'hard' ones. Even cannabis oil was designated Class A (maybe still is - haven't checked).

Anyway, maybe someone can confirm or refute. Just a vague memory as it was long ago.

and as Adousage succinctly states, it's a relative term, and probably more open to subjective interpretation than almost any other social phenomena.

I quit using hard drugs after I got into psychs.

Psychedels have made my life better, with them I cured my depression and got my life back. Now I'm also into meditation. I love psychedelics. :)

i will occasionally indulge in oxy, but its with about the same frequency that i trip... about once a month....

but i started with weed and klonopin the same night...
smoked weed for a while...
dropped acid...
and then started occasionally indulging in oxy...

^ In 140 odd posts, nobody even hinted at Viagra & 'hard' drugs =D =D

LOL

I tried acid when I was 16, cocaine at 17 (only a few times that year), and the wonderful world of opiates later in the year thanks to a bad car accident. Ever since I got IV fentanyl in the ER its been history. Tried heroin (best hard drug IMO) this summer for the first time when my habit got bad.

Since then I've stopped hard drug use (including alcohol), but continue with psychedelics on occasion.

This has always been a bit of a contentious point, some in the judicial system treating it in the same way as hashish (class B), while others treated it as tetrahydrocannabinol, which is a class A drug. Depends on who you asked

I just had a dose of 80mg oxy, which is the usual for my day. Im going to Sydney later and going to a superclub where I plan on taking 10-15mg 2C-I and 2 strong MDMA pills. should be fun, its a hardstyle/trance club though so I know the MDMA will love that, hopefully the 2C-I loves it too ;)

My psychedelic use came before my hard drug use. I use psychedelics a lot more when I have a lot of free time, but hard drugs I use pretty steadily maybe once or twice a week (coke and opiates). Psychedelics tend to make me feel guilty about my hard drug use, especially the coke. Usually it's because I'm absolutely blown away by 15 bucks worth of acid, and in the moment I can't justify spending 3x as much for a couple hours of not as much fun on coke. One time when I was tripping on 25 mg of 4-aco-dmt something strange happened though... it made me crave coke. I decided to go through with it and it was definitely one of the biggest mistakes I've made drug wise to date.

i havent tried LSD before. i dont think i would want to either i hate smoken cannabis and i dont like tripping wer im not incontroll of wat im tripping about so i dont think LSD is the drug for me. i dont know if you class ecstasy as a hard drug but if so then i have tried a hard drug before psychs

The only hard drug I do with any sort of regularity is oxycodone and I am positive I wouldn't have segued into that without first doing other (psychedelic) drugs. Thankfully the only drug I've ever been straight up addicted to is nicotine and that's hardly hard.

Psychedelic use came before hard drugs. I started out with shrooms and moved very quickly onto DXM. I'd say the path to consistent hard drug use all really began when I discovered my sister's stash of leftover lortabs. I eventually got to the point of being willing to take pretty much any drug I could get my hands on and using hard drugs more often than psychedelics.

Mushrooms were the 1st "hard" drug I used. Then I used amphetamines. For a while after that it was like a mad dash to use as many drugs as possible. Fortunately I'm passed that phase, but even today there are still very few drugs I wont do if I have access to them in pure form.

2 weeks with no oxy or heroin.
woot woot for me.

im going to jump back into psychedelics with a clean conscious. Free of any guilt of being a junky. And i have the yummiest little bunch of psychs waiting for me.

I used hard drugs before psychedelics strictly because of lack of a source. I was always most curious about psychs and pretty much started trying hard drugs around 15 out of boredom.

I still use hard drugs but psychs are by far my favorite.

I tried some hard drugs before psychs.. But after I dosed my first time, I never [as in yet] touched hard drugs again.. I dunno, I just don't see the point after doing such a great substance such as LSD <3

My answer is too complex to fit in a checked box.

Simply: psychs first, then into heavy dope.

Then, cleaned up and found psychs again.

Though I'll still do a lil dope if it's offered. ;)

Psychedelic use came first, starting with cannabis, after which LSD, following to meth, coke and other 'hard drugs'. I've found that i dont like euphoric or painkilling substances as much as... weird substances. :D
