^ One thing to keep in mind is that newsreel footage isn't always captured specifically for the story. If the network didn't have any cameras available for that story they might easily bung in a few grabs of 'file footage' or 'stock footage' from any other pill bust... as long as there's huge bags of pills, customs dogs and a few coppers standing around, it complements the story enough to make you go 'fw0ar' while they read out numbers like "street value" to add impact.
However, sometimes they do have a camera on hand, particularly for large busts or novel packing methods, ie., every now and then a huge bust will go down with all the pills imported inside computer monitors or something, so they get a grab of a policeman pulling a bag of 10,000 pills out of a monitor et cetera).
