I don't day trade either, except occasionally I'll swing trade when there is a piece of news and I buy whatever crypto is getting hyped and sell when I get to 10/15% profit or whatever, really short trades. I have quite a bit of XRB, I may add more too but it's my second biggest holding, I really believe in it because their product works and it's the best currency there is (no fees, instant, very little electricity to power the network). I also have Lisk/LSK, it's my biggest one at the moment, great app platform like ETH, except it uses more common programming languages including Javascript which should attract more developers, it's a competitor to NEO I'd say (and ETH) but still much lower market cap than NEO. Plus it's been VERY steady with its BTC price, even during the recent crash/correction the BTC price barely had a dent in it. I've also got QLC (QLink), it's very cheap and low market cap right now, it is trying to provide a decentralized internet service. I also have VEN like you do, I think it seems like a good project. I have some WTC (WaltonChain) which is also a great project. Finally I have some PRL (OysterPearl), which is a very low market cap and has been getting some hype and also seems like a good project.
Basically I try to diversify into mostly pretty solid things, and a small percentage into low market cap/speculative things, hoping one or more of them takes off and hits a billion market cap... if my QLC hits a billion, my $250 will become $5000, and a billion is pretty small for a crypto that actually gets adopted. Same with PRL. The rest I expect less growth but more stability. If my small market cap ones make it big, I'll reinvest the gains in the same proportion, try to hit some more small market caps while they're getting started and flip those too.
I also bought 18,000 SVD tokens from the savedroid ICO... very interesting project, I will probably wait for the initial peak when it gets listed on HitBTC and sell, then rebuy the same amount when it drops off (almost all ICOs follow the same pattern when first listed). I believe in the project but it's probably a few years away from coming to fruition.
I'm also interested in all of the following:
- QASH (they are creating a "world book" which plans to link up all cryptos, fiat, and even other investments like commodities, so you can instantly go between them all, eliminating all the difficulty with crypto <-> fiat and so forth, using their QASH token for liquidity. Basically a global liquidity system, could be huge if it works out and it's still quite cheap, they haven't been advertising at all, just working on their product)
- SNM (SONM - distributed fog supercomputer through blockchain, super cool project)
- POWR (Power ledger)
- ZRX (0x, framework for decentralized exchanges which we need badly, decentralized exchanges would use smart contracts to move currency between private wallets owned by each party in a trade, rather than how centralized exchanges have possession of your money until you withdraw, and then they charge fees to withdraw. And in some cases, like with BitGrail recently, and Mt Gox back in the day, they can fail or turn scammer and steal your money. Decentralized exchanges eliminate that aspect, and also make hacking much less likely.)
- ARDR (app platform designed to sell to others to create sub-chains, Ardor holders can stake their coins and receive rewards for Ardor and ALL sub-chains. So years from now it will be very profitable to hold, if it becomes popular)
- COSS (The token (like KuCoin Shares for KuCoin) for a new exchange that is already operational, very low market cap still and it's getting hyped, also holding it gives weekly dividends. Unfortunately the exchange absolutely can't seem to get an account activation email through to my email, I've tried over and over, it's not in spam, it's been 3 days with multiple re-sends. Weird. I plan to pick up like $200-300 worth and hold it for a while, get some dividends, and if it seems to be at risk of crashing I'll sell after hopefully 10x at least. The exchange seems like it could be great though, many more fiat gateways, they're trying to make it easier to buy crypto with fiat, and some other stuff too, interesting project)
