films: Movies that everyone has seen but you

Am I the only person to have never seen The Goonies? I tried watching it awhile ago but fell asleep in the beginning. I suppose that's worse

I haven't seen Apocalypse Now either. I didn't even know it was a widely watched movie. I guess it shows how much I know about movies.

I don't really have any desire to see them either.

Only one I would recommend seeing is Schindler's List because it is such an incredible film with so many great performances. However, you sometimes squirm with nausea during some scenes


haven't seen JFK or Dances with Wolves - they never interested me. I don't think I've watched One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest either.

Dances with Wolves actually is pretty good, if you're into long, lyrical epics. JFK's a complete waste of time.

I haven't seen Cuckoo's Nest either.

I don't really have the patience to go to theater and watch most of the films that come out here, they are mostly American big budget and play out the same, so that means a lot. Bond movies, Star Wars stuff, Ocean's.

When I was in college I was the only one who hadn't seen Cinema Paradiso, Run Lola Run, Citizen Kane. Still haven't

Every James Bond movie ever made. Except for the last one. I don't even remember the name of it, but it was Daniel Craig's first go at the Bond role. Fuck Bond. Fuck James Bond.

^ you should see it. it's mostly sugary nonsense and it's very sentimental but it's pretty good and features strong performances from tom cruise, renee zellwegger, cuba gooding jr., jay mohr, and others.

I feel you on The Godfather and its sequels. I tried to watch the first one several times. Boring as hell.

^ The second one is better, IMO. I can see how you would find the first one a bit slow. If you haven't read the book, many of the minor characters won't make much sense. On Thanksgiving Day, AMC showed The Godfather and The Godfather Part 2 over and over ad nauseam.

The only one I can think of for me is Miller's Crossing. I'm a fan of the Coens, but somehow I've never gotten around to this one.
