Like I said on another thread , I’m interested in history of drugs , drug use , drug addiction , drugs in medicine , pharmacology , drug policy , drugs in societies, drug culture , drugs in the animal kingdom etc.

History repeats itself and I think the history it’s key to understanding current drug policy and where it’ll go from here .

In the 1920s alcohol was the demon drug. In the 30s it’s cannabis, in the 80s most people have experience with cannabis so they flip it to crack , in early 2000s it’s meth, recently it’s the opioid drugs, tomorrow it’ll be some other drug people want to scapegoat for complex issues. And so it will continue until people learn drugs are the symptom , not the problem .

Anyway. Junky by William Burroughs is a damn fine book . I don’t think it’s considered a classic of literature (it should be ), I mainly like the classics

Listen up. I'm a fine one to talk. I painstakingly translated a 161 (not a typo) year old paper not too long ago! Interesting. Bit of a nostalgic feeling to it too. But not worth much in the bigger scheme of things.

Lmao. I get you brother . I once went through the product monograph for all the morphine products available in my country and scanned the ingredients for which ones are safe to inject

I only have slang in swedish/norwegian to offer. Slang in english is rare here.

It’s crazy how many of you guys call heroin dope. I’m in the middle of fuckin nowhere, KS and for the most part, around here dope is talking about go, ice, meth. Me and my friend would also use women’s names in public. But not very often and ours were much more obvious. Like “hey you hear from Crystal?” Or Mary for weed.

MDMA is only Molly, the only time I’ve seen it in pill form around here, I think it was bunk so I don’t trust it

Heroin I’ve only ever called H or black

Coke is white or blow

Crack I’ve heard called candy, base, rock, hard and prolly others too it seems like every year there’s a new nickname for crack

2mg Alprazolam are hulks cause they green

LSD I usually call it Sid

Shrooms or boomers

Weed, trees, green, bud, or people who’ve never smoked call it pot. I occasionally call it pot or reefer in a comedic fashion. Devil’s Lettuce too

Other than the hulks, prescriptions are pretty much just the first syllable Oxy, percs, morphs, xans, addy
