^^ I found no closed eye hallucinations on it, but after a 10 hour binge on it, I had trouble recognising objects in that kind of dissociative-style sense. I could look at my window for ages but it would take me around 4 minutes to actually realise it was a window.
Personally I love mephedrone, it's my all-time favourite substance, and I can't stop doing it once I'm in possession of it. I'm saving myself for a couple of weeks though so I can finally experience it in a social situation, which as of yet I haven't done.
Tolerance seems to drop off quite quickly suggesting, in my opinion, that it's not nearly as serotonergic as MDMA. I can take as much mephedrone as I like and I still won't feel like I've run out of serotonin and need to spend 2 months off the drug to replace it. I also definitely feel there is a large adrenergic feeling there, when I'm past the peak the high becomes very jittery.
Overall I'd say epinephrine - 7/10 dopamine - 7/10 serotonin 4/10 (if MDMA was 10)
however I DO find it much, much more empathogenic than MDMA.
Also much more dancey. I can't stop moving in some way or another when I have music on.
As for the comedown, it's more of a stimulant crash in my opinion, and is best avoided.
I also felt a very strange pressure on my temples after taking a large amount of the stuff in one go and getting VERY high. I attribute this to my blood pressure rocketing, so once again I say this drug is better taken in moderation to get pleasantly high rather than completely mashed.
that's my 689 cents 8)
My two and only attempts at mephedrone both turned effortlessly into 3 days without sleep, As someone who moans if they don't get their 8 hours, the experience was surprisingly relaxed and pain free besides the constant and supernatural tempation to redose despite knowing a lot better . It'd be interesting to hear how long people have stayed up for on this and the impact felt afterwards on mood and functioning - I did notice some pleasurelessness, apathy and intense desire to be alone today probably due to dopamine downregulation rather than depletion.
Euphoria is very short lived like you find yourself almost rushing to do something enjoyable before the magic wears off and just goes the background stimulant mode. More redosing means more heart issues, right now I've got have got sore temples and headache after pulling off about 74 hours awake since Thursday (during which I slept for 5 hours sleep)during which I have done 3.26g (I justified any wrecklessness by keeping a meticulous log of updates with dosage times and numbers) Basically I feel like a much less hardcore version of a meth addict. The walls are actually glowing dark colours as i sit typing this with my light's off.
Other things i get are auditory hallucinations- voices that come in and out of the mind like turning a radio dial, which can be a little frustrating if trying to sleep. If i've been up for too long, i might see shapes in my peripheral vision as well. Also I have noticed how some big doses have no positive effect at all, even after a break, while smaller ones later on can, which can be mysifying and that sleep takes 7-8 hours after your last dose if you've been redosing.
Today I did a bit >1g (same story past three days- shameful) I definitely beat my lifetime record of just 8 hours sleep in 80-82 hour period. Another thing: I wonder how important agents for comparison, like coke, are to catagorising what is and isn't 'heavy' use. Some say 250mg is the right amount for a dose, and that more smaller but more frequent dosing makes for a less good experience overall.
Even the Guardian have done a piece on it quoting the cost of a gram owhich was described as being 'enough for four to five doses.'
I like take to take a benzo on it sometimes, or a bit of K, but usually don't hit the pills until i really have to sleep. I have used propranolol but having just discovered it can worsen cardiotoxity in coadministration with stimulants I will stop and find a good vasodilator instead. Incidentally Viagra worked a charm for the blood pressure and vasoconstrictive median effects, which are definitely a problem, like my heart does feel like it's gone through the ringer the past two days. Will check in to tell you how i'm feeling in a bit.
