Best Stand-Up Comedy Specials

Can't believe I hadn't seen any of them before.

Yeah, there's this guy called George Carlin who once told a few jokes. There's also this one random comedian named . . . Richard Pryor, I think? They're all so underground and unknown that I forget sometimes. Check those two out though.

George Carlin (I was lucky enough to see him twice before he died)
Mitch Hedberg (Tragically passed away too soon)

WP

Comedy Central Presents Natasha Leggero (shes a fox ;))
Comedy Central Presents Zach Galifianakis

Both excellent specials, locatable through torrents.

i like doug stanhope. he say's attrocious things, is drunk onstage and is a big time psychedelic user

My favorite is Doug Benson. I always make a joke with my friends about how Marijuana has kept him youthful. I mean...he's 46 but looks like he's in his 30's.

the most influential comedians to me:

stephen wright, larry david, andy kauffman, david cross, david spade, chris elliott, bobcat goldtwait, dana carvey, adam sandler, dave chappelle

also:

okay, not really that funny but it's definitely fun to yell out 'who wants to smash some fruit?!' once in awhile

and the funniest woman in hollywood, even though i don't think she wrote much of her material, gilda radner(original cast member of snl)

Fuck Max, I said "looks".

He's a Marc Maron recommendation and I stand by it.

My personal favorites are:
Eddie Izzard - Dressed to Kill and Glorious
Louis C.K. - Chewed Up and Hilarious
Demetri Martin - Person
Craig Ferguson - A Wee Bit of Revolution
Mike Birbiglia - What I Should of Said Was Nothing

Lets talk comedians !!

Just got done watching Todd Barry... dude didnt make me laugh at all, i feel like the audience only laughed for him to make him feel good. :D
I usually watch Stand-Up on Comedy Central. kevin Hart is a funny motherfucker though.

What you gotta say?

Todd Barry is hilarious as is Kevin Hart. Two totally different styles of comedy and laughter but they're both great. People who don't jump around and scream like Dane Cook, Kevin Hart, Adam Sandler, etc don't get picked up for movies or anything, but he's a talented comedian for sure. It's a shame you don't think so as a fan of comedy. He's more mellow, kind of like Norm Mcdonald, but Norm is WAY funnier for sure. If you dont think Norm is funny then I can't help ya.

Check out Bill Burr, he's one of my favorites at the moment. He's animated enough to appeal to people who like the really dynamic performances, but he's smart enough to come up with brilliant shit.

Check out Pablo Francisco's Comedy Central debut.
It is old, but epic.

Also give Jim Breuer a try.

I can't believe I've never encountered him until now (probably because I'm not English), but holy cow, Stewart Lee is exceptional! Witty, sarcastic humor that is often self-referential to his own comedy career. I haven't seen him on Netflix, but you can see old clips of his and watch his show, Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle in its entirety on Youtube. Not to be missed!

Here's the first episode: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mO8F1HJjzkA

Steven Wright all the way!
His deadpan one-liners are so absurd it just kills me =D
"In school they told me practice makes perfect, but they also told me no one's perfect so then I stopped practicing"

lmao, he is in a different class.

I have to add two of my favourite quotes......sorry.

"I bought some batteries, but they weren't included. So I had to buy them again"

and

"I bought some powdered water, but I didn't know what to add"

Rofl.

Lol... I HATE Norm McDonald. Im not really a fan of laidback monotonous comedy.
