just as a heads up, if you have netflix streaming they have 240 episodes of comedy central presents.
 
Christopher Titus is fantastic.
Granted I've only seen two of his stand ups, but they were both funny as hell.

I hate Dane Cook and yet I am still enraged by your comparison of him to Carlos Mencia. Nobody deserves to be compared to Carlos Mencia, he is in a level of suckiness that is reserved only for him. Making comparisons to him is just not cool, and insulting to all of the just plain not funny comedians in the world. Mencia is by far the worst I have ever seen.


Oh, and funny comedians not already brought up in this thread. I've only seen a little bit of him, but Jasper Redd appears to be hilarious. I've never seen a full half-hour special by him though, he has just made a few guest appearances on Comedy Central shows.

There are other great comedians.

Greg Giraldo, Louis CK, Todd Barry, Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock, Ted Alexandro, Pat Dixon, Sarah Silverman, Judah Friedlander, Hannibal Buress and Patrice O'Neal are ALL GREAT - and the list goes on.

But NO ONE in the history of Comedy Centrals Presents (Half Hour Specials), has absolutely BLOWN THE DOORS OFF to the point that THAT PARTICULAR 22-minutes-of-aired-material SPECIAL figuratively skyrocketed their respective careers to a whole 'nother level as did the three brilliant joke-writers I listed at the top of this post.

If you love smart comedy, you owe it to yourself to youtube every single comic I just listed.

If there's interest, I'll be happy to list every single comic who I consider to be "excellent."

Comedy is enjoying a renaissance right now, and thankfully, there are literally dozens upon dozens of comics currently performing who I would label as "excellent" or "great."

There are PLENTY of excellent comics right now.

Most of them are men.

But not NEARLY all of them.

Not even close.
