Question...
I've been on subs about 6 months, I took 4 mg's 48 hours ago, I took mthadoNE 24 hours ago, can I go right back on the subs now or do I need to feel sick again??

Ive stopped the subs for 24 hours, and used then went back on sub 36 hours later but never 48, is it the same?

Never mind...

I went back on my subs and I'm fine, 48 hours is still OK.

Still OK for me, I'm not saying thats true for everyone...

PEACE!

Does promethazine interact with suboxone? I know it potentiates opiates, but would it perhaps make my detox plan longer before I start using the suboxone after stopping methadone? Or would it even make precipitated withdrawals worse?

Promethazine is safe to combine, it will increase sedation and relaxation slightly while on buprenorphine.

Yeah, I was into 'em at first, but I had my doc put me back on the pills. Taste has never been an issue for me 'cause I have no sense of smell (probably due to multiple sinus surgeries).

Also, welcome fellow South Floridian. There seems to be quite a few of us, though that's not surprising given the propensity of opiates down here.

I'm a fellow South Floridian who was sucked in by the Pain Management clinics down here with all their infinite adverisements promising short wait times, inexpensive visits, etc. There is no such thing as a short wait time at Pain Management clinics and the only time that it is inexpensive is when you use one of those ad coupons that sucks you in by only charging you $99 for your first visit. Each visit thereafter is about $300.

New thread time :D

How's everyones bupe treatment going?

EDIT: caseface beat me to the first post lol.

I started back in October on 16 mgs of Suboxone. I'm now down to 4 mgs a day and have been for over a month, but my doctor thinks I'm on 6 to 8 mgs a day. I'm hoarding them and tapering on my own. I figure once I get down to a really low dose, I can taper off using what I've hoarded without having to pay the Sub doc $99 every two weeks. So far I've put away about 20, 8 mgs pills and strips. Tomorrow I'm going to give 2 mgs a try. It's tough in the beginning to drop, but after a couple of days you get used to the lower amount. Or at least that's the case in my experience...

When I started Suboxone roughly a month ago, it was pretty much a spur-of-the moment decision. The pain clinic I'd been getting my oxy scrips from had to change doctors 'cause the main doc got in some trouble (over-prescribing, I think), and their scheduling got all screwed up, leaving me to suffer. I waited eight hours and still wasn't seen. But I saw the writing on the wall, and I quickly called and made an appointment with a Sub doctor (one I had previously seen but flaked out after five days). When I finally saw the pain doctor the next day, he ended up cutting my oxy supply down by a third. Had I not made the appointment to see the Suboxone doctor, I would have been massively freaking out; not only was my scrip smaller, but it ended up taking me a week to fill, meaning I would have run out and gone into withdrawals in the middle of the workweek.

So yeah, I guess my point is always have a backup plan, whatever it may be.

This is almost identical to MY story with how I got off oxys and on Subs. The Pain Clinic I was going to shut down for two weeks. No notice, NOTHING. I had no pills left and ended up spending $300 to buy 30 pills off the street. I made an appointment with a Sub doctor and then spent the next two days in a daze, having taken 15 pills a day leading up to my Sub appointment. I almost feel like sending that Pain Management clinic a fucking thank you note for closing. It was the best thing that could have happened to me. Not only do I feel 100% better, I've been able to save a TON of money because I'm not spending $1500 on doctor bills and pills. (I was seeing TWO doctors to get enough Roxis a month)

I wanna also say happy new year to everyone. I've been busy with work (I work for a Judge and a Colonel in the Army as his personal assistant) and we were moved to a criminal division (my forte!) at the beginning of the year. These last few weeks have been great! I've been bouncing out of bed in the morning to go to work because I love it.... and I'm sober so I can actually get stuff done without relying on my clerks for everything. It has been a great start to a new year. 2010 SUCKED DONKEY BALLS!

I'm sorry I'm quoting old posts, but I'm playing catch up. I should also say sorry for the novel I just wrote. I just woke up from a four hour nap and downed a Pepsi in about five seconds and I'm bouncing off the walls....

Thank God for Xanax or I'd never sleep tonight. =D

im 10 days off suboxone feeling pretty good still tired all the time tho and not sleeping good

just wondering if i took like 2mg would it reset my 10 days or just put the withdrawal process on a sort of a pause?

im just scared ill feel like i was after coming off of taking it almost everyday for months but common sense tells shit should not work like that

My doctor has always given me the regular suboxone, orange, nasty ass tablets. 2 weeks ago he gave me something new. Suboxone strips. They are like those listerine strips that yoiu put on your tongue and it slowly dissolves. I haven't tried em yet, i've had enough orange tablets, but this seems kind of weird. Anyone else try these? My doc said its exactly the same...

I've tried the strips and they are easier to use than the tablets and work just as well if not better because they dissolve faster.

However, I have been snorting mine, so I prefer the pills so I can crush them and snort them. I've heard that they're doing away with the pills and ONLY going to offer the strips. Has anyone else heard anything about this? I'm just curious because I usually get my script filled at my doctor's office, but they only had the strips and said that Reckitt Benckiser were not going to offer Suboxone in pill form anymore.

I hope this is not the case because i too like to snort the tablets instead of taking the strips. Although you can snort the strips too. Just chop them up in to little pieces and snort it just like a pill. Try to not snort so much that you get to much to wear it wont absorb well. If you use both nostrils you should be fine as long as you don't take massive doses of sub. I have found that anything over like two or three mgs won't do anything more for me other than give me a headache. If they are cuttin out the tabs completely than i suggest tryin what i just explain about snortin the strips. If you don't like it then just take them as directed. Or plug them =D very taboo to many but i've always said you can't hate on anything if you haven't tried it. And let me tell you i don't hate it one bit haha best feeling i've ever gotten from my subs. of course its not a method you should abuse as it could possibly lead to some negative affects but every once in a while it is a nice treat i must say.

I don't know if plugging would work. I'm perpetually constipated, so I don't know if it would interfere with the effects.

So, if I were to snort the sub strips, I would just chop them up in the tiniest pieces and snort those? I can use an exacto knife and just chop the hell out of them like I do when I mince garlic, LOL!

And believe me, I will take a pill of any kind on any day in any way. I like pills. A LOT! LOL! I'm not at all afraid to try different methods of using them, but I would never shoot them. I can't... I'm afraid of needles! I'm a pussy....

I don't get why one would snort/IV suboxone. Maybe I'm just ignorant to it, but doesn't it not get you high?

I'd imagine it would work the same way as any other drugs. I'm sure it will help considerably, and only very slightly delay the withdrawal time. I'd say if you're having trouble sleeping, you might want to consider something else first, but if you have no other options, go ahead and take 2mg.

I'm bupe free!

Took 14 months and did the following taper

4, 8, 6, 4, 3, 2, 1, 0.8, 0.4, 0.2, 0.2 intermittent and finally jumped off.

Been a week now and still get the shits mildly, I don't seem to need as much sleep but generally feel fine, probably slightly flatter mood wise but I get a good buzz from exercise and normal things instead now.

Feels good to get off, when I got down to 0.2 I started training 6-7 days a week doing running, weights and dieting, lost 10kg in the last 3 months and gained loads of muscle, haven't felt this good in almost 3 years.

A lot of people might say I could have done it much quicker but personally the long time frame was needed to mentally get over the idea of getting high, right now I have ZERO craving for opiates, in fact I tried them about a month ago for shits and giggles and hated the experience, made me feel sick and depressed the following day, good riddance as I now have zero desire for them at all.

Wish everyone the best with their bupe adventure, was a miracle drug for me.

Yes IV bupe is wonderful. Ive only IV'ed subutex so I dont know about the dreaded head ache the orange suboxone produces. But I love a low dose of IV bupe to get the morning going.

Man bupe is one hell of a two-faced drug. I'm getting way worse side effects this time through with bupe. I'm definitely going to be off soon, I almost want to throw some of my sub away because I know I can be off with like 4 8mg Subs...

Don't throw them away, hold onto them. :)

^Maybe I'll give someone one or two to hang on to for after I'm completely clean, because I really like the induction phase of Suboxone (the first month or so), but after that, I NEED the bupe to have any energy and don't get the boost of energy really that I was getting before during that first month...

If I'm clean from Sub, it is wonderful to get on for like a week regimen, as it is the absolute best work-out aid I have used (combined with small vape hits of marijuana). This is generally what happens: I use the Sub for the energy boost and performance boost (in exercise, mainly) for about one - two weeks. By week 3, I know I am at least a little addicted and still want to exercise like a madman so will continue to get what I can out of it. This drags on for another week or two until I'm not getting anything noticeable out of it, I just need it to feel alright... This is where I am now and have been about four times before. I really don't plan on being here a fifth time, so if I give some to someone to hang onto, it
is only going to be enough to get maybe 2 weeks worth of doses before I'm forced to quit.

One thing I want to note about this time being on bupe, it seems to make me much noddier. Like, I'm either withdrawing or nodding a bit, there is no real middle ground where I don't feel bad but don't nod out at some point. When I first took bupe as a teen recreationally, I loved the insane nods, but they are really undesirable to me now. All they do is make everyone think I'm on hard drugs... :|

I feel the same way... The side effects suck, especially headaches, constipation, and low energy when it wears down. I refuse to dose more than once a day. For me, it's good to prevent WD's but thats it. I've lost a lot of zest for life and kinda feel like just existing. At first it was ok but the longer i'm on it, the worse it gets. I can't even smoke a cig without getting a headache. I know thats good for health but I'm a mild smoker anyway [4-5 a day] when not using opiates...

The only good part is taking a couple of days break with oxy/benzo which I enjoy but it screws me up for at least 1-2 days afterwards. WTF... I'm either going to deal with this or learn to live a dull life. I hope you young guys can get the fuck off when you get your life back in order. IMO you don't want to make this a lifetime deal unless you have no control whatsover when off subs.
