Tryptamines The Big & Dandy DiPT Thread

Merging in an interesting smoked DiPT/5-MeO-MiPT experience/thread.
 
That's pretty scary that people can develop permanent tinnitus from smoking a normal dose of this stuff. Pretty much puts me off of ever trying it because I am a musician. Kinda unfortunate because it sounds very interesting.
 
I'm also a musician, which could be one of the main reasons I've been afraid to try DiPT. I even had some of it in my possession for a while, but gave it away to my friends because I was too anxious to try it myself. Even though I would imagine the effects on audio are quite fascinating. Not to mention the potential for inducing a deeply entheogenic experience, as I've read. There's just something that seems to scare me off it for some reason. Fear of the unknown perhaps?

Permanent tinnitus from just one dose? Sound quite frightning :\ Can you back this up?

Just saw that Tinnitus. I never saw/said that, and have no evidence to post such a thing.

A person I talked to who seems a valid source reported people getting strong tinnitus that lingered for a long time after 12-20 exposures to the DiPT.

So Recept, please by all means try some. You will be fine after one time. I loved the first time with it and its a pretty wild substance. As a musician, you should find it profound.
 
^ I am certainly hoping to some day. However, I gave all mine away when I had some a while ago unfortunately, and it might be awhile until I decide to restock. So many interesting things to try, so little time...
 
Has anyone tried combining DiPT and LSD? I'm thinking of trying this some time soonish. I remember DiPT and 2C-E synergizing well (comparable duration of effects, nice combination of severe visual and auditory distortions), and I've enjoyed insufflated 2C-C on top of DiPT (a bouncing semidissociative colourful joy), although it didn't integrate so well. I'm thinking DiPT/LSD could be as interesting as DiPT/2C-E, but more so. Both 2C-E and LSD have given me OEAs in the past, but LSD particularly more so, so I'll be especially interested to hear what the auditory side of LSD/DiPT will be like. :)

Any experiences with this combo? I could find one experience on Lycaeum, but nothing on Erowid, as far as I can see.
 
Just wanted to note that I have now developed extremely annoying tinnitus. I took DiPT 1 time about 7 months ago. It may not be related at all to the DiPT, because I now have VS (Visual Snow), which is kind of like HPPD but without any of the psychedelic visuals and can be caused by extreme stress (I have static, floaters, trails, and now tinnitus). Tinnitus is a standard symptom so who knows. Tinnitus is certainly not worth the effects of DiPT, I know that for sure.
 
^Agreed really. I find a fair few tryptamines give me tinnitus, at least while tripping; DMT, 4-HO-DiPT, DiPT, DPT etc. though the 4-HO-DiPT and plain ole DiPT caused long lasting effects; though I'm withdrawing from benzo's so that is another reason. Sucks though when it gets really piercing, though mine seems transient...
 
How much do you guys smoke of the freebase? Im sure I have DiPT freebase and Ive tried smoking up to 15 mg with little to no effect. 50 mg orally gave me and others some effects though, so its not bunk I have.

I use "the machine" for smoking it. Works like a dream with DMT, so why not DiPT? 15 mg seems like a decent smoked dose DiPT.
 
You either need a higher a dose or maybe the effects of smoked DiPT take longer to come on.

It doesnt take long to come on at all. You'll know by 5 minutes that you're blasted.

I never used a scale and just eyeballed it. go for an area the size of a US dime, and I did it via lightbulb vaporization.

Just keep on sucking it down and you'll know. Its fantastic that way. You should probably stop when you get to a point where there are visual effects. If you keep smoking further past that, the sounds change to a metal bell sound, and thats when it gets weird.
 
i wish i could get my hands on some DiPT and/or some DPT. specially DPT, Ive read several wonderful TRs
 
glad I got it when I did (from the vendor who died recently) because it wasnt around long and it was a good deal. Not something I'd buy again, simply because I had my fill of it, but it was a fun ride.
 
Trying this one soon. After that i've been thinking of doing DiPT+Mescaline. Any thoughts?
 
How will you know what DiPT does if you take it with another very powerful psychedelic the first time?
 
He said "after that", so I'm presuming he'd try it alone first.

I'm not entirely sure how DiPT would blend with mescaline, but it does seem to shine in combinations, because that allows you to take lower doses. High dose DiPT seems variable based on what I've seen on erowid. There's a certain point where it becomes much more intense and DPT/DMT like, which seems to precipitate panic in some, due to the high degree of mental changes coupled with strong audio hallucinations. DiPT + mescaline could very well be pleasant and add an additional degree of sensory distortion while maintaining the clearheadedness that many find in mescaline.

For some reason, this compound really 'calls out' to me. I'm only somewhat interested in DPT, and otherwise am hoping to try phenethylamines before many tryptamines. How do you think DiPT would be for an inexperienced tripper? I've taken LSD once (hoping for many more doses in the near future) and will also likely be purchasing 2C-E and 2C-D, so I may have some trips with those as well.
 
DiPT is one of my all-time favourite drugs (not even limited to psychedelics), precisely for the fact that it is always (for me anyway) limited to a ++ while still allowing for the occasional ++++. A psychedelic that one can "switch off" at will is a blessing. Add to that the lack of side-effects and you have a winner. The "ear candy" is wonderful and unique icing on the cake :).

I usually don't combine psychs but the DPT+DiPT combo made sense to me - and boy was it worth it. The two drugs work so well together that it feels as though a completely new drug was the result.
