Opioids Suboxone

Suboxone is “fair” at relieving pain. Methadone is amazing for killing pain. But be very careful in regards to the methadone, because it is highly addicting and a friend of mine told me that it is THE worst withdrawal of all. Probably best not to try it at all knowing that! It’s very alluring; it makes you feel like you’re having a great day, a beautiful, normal day. That’s how it was for me anyway. Not really a “high”. I wouldn’t mind staying on it for life, which is what you would basically be doing. But there were too many side effects that I was not willing to have for the rest of my life.
Such a perfect day ..timdamdamdam

That’s what I do, use a mirror! Because it is a nightmare to get them in. And I don’t want little pieces, dropping onto the floor for my cats to eat!

Did the methadone or suboxone help with your chronic pain? I only ask because I have chronic pain too & always wondered if either were comparable to other painkillers for pain.
I was just saying to someone else in this thread that Suboxone is just OK for pain relief, but it has a lot of side effects that I am not willing to live with. Methadone is king at painkilling as far as I’m concerned. But you will wind up regretting it, because like with anything, you become immune to certain doses, and you never get that first dose feeling again. My friend who died from drugs recently, told me one time that the withdrawal from methadone is by far THE Worst drug withdrawal ever. Just knowing that will keep me away from it. Side effects while you’re on it are a little weird too.

I have been tapering off suboxone strips for a few months. I have gone from 16 mgs down to 4mgs. I have 2 questions:

1. If I have one “cheat” day, where I take a small amount extra, do I have to start the taper process all over again or can I just resume from where I was?
2. I’ve heard that the jump from 2 mgs down to 1mg is brutal (& same for the jump from 1 mg to nothing). I plan on cutting the strip down into little pieces at the very end to try to alleviate discomfort. Has anyone successfully completed the withdrawal from THIS drug. I’ve already been through withdrawal from Oxycodone, so I don’t need to know about that or any other drug. I’m curious about this alleged brutal withdrawal on those particular parts of the drop in milligrams.

I respectfully ask that if you’re not certain of the answer, please not reply. Sometimes I’ve noticed that peeps will get off topic & spin off into non-related conversations with each other in my comment thread. It’s makes things kinda hard to follow. 😄

Much thanks!!
Everything is brutal regarding Suboxone tapering. 5 months later my nervous system is still recovering. Definitely wouldn't recommend this poison to the worst enemy.

Yes, brain zaps, arms & legs jerking randomly on their own. A weird tingly feeling on my scalp. My jaw suddenly snapping shut out of nowhere. And It can awaken your depression. Nodding off constantly, even in MRI machines! Also had a few close calls while driving. What fun! Honestly, don’t create this personal hell for yourself or you’ll be kicking yourself later..

And you can say good bye to your teeth.

Ime all the low end reductions are hardest. I believe it's just due to the percentages ya know. 4~3 is like 25% but 2~1 is 50% and 1~0 is 100% .I know it's not as simple as that but it's my theory😀
Phally, I messed up today, and I am really upset with myself. When I woke up, I didn’t feel too great, and I didn’t feel very motivated to do anything. Out of nowhere, it was like my brain was telling me, when you get up, just take as much as you want! Then I was looking forward to getting up. I used to take 16 mg and as you know, I have tapered down to 3 mgs . This morning I took 8 mg. I regretted it as soon as I did it, and even tried to get it out of my mouth, but it turns sticky under your tongue and you can’t really pull it out. The sad thing is, it didn’t make me feel any better, physically or mentally. So I got nothing out of it other than being pissed at myself.Everytime I think of it I get upset. now I’m wondering if I should deprive myself completely tomorrow and get back on track Tuesday morning, or if I should just go back to my regular dose tomorrow. 😵‍💫

Mate continue with your regular dose (3mg) and keep tapering slowly (not more than 25% off). If you have time do it as slow as possible. Suboxone is a powerful and dangerous stuff. It took me almost 6 months to feel normal again after I quit. Good luck.

Wtf are you talking about? Any proof of this 6 months shit? Im on week 2 ct and just starting to fall apart so i have to ask.... few more weeks of this shit? (You say fucking months) i can go do methadon switch right now if thats what im in for , or some coal on stove lel

id agree with 67 blinky, its just a blip on the road. not worth messing with the routine over.

sounds like u need time to adjust to the 3mg dose if youtre feeling like that in the morning. no more reductions until ure stable for a few weeks. the more u fanny about the harder it becomes . a lot of ppl create a wheel for themselves. the slower u taper the fewer months of feeling abnormal when u finally stop. i know ppl tapering 8mg over years.

also the less u think about actually taking them the easier it is. thats why slow acting opiates are preferable. u arent constantly clock watching.

go back to the normal dose tomorrow and forget about today.

Thank you for the advice! Was the final taper to 0 mgs the worst of it? I like having the strips so that I can cut small pieces off little by little over time. Will taking the extra today set me back in anyway?

I'm just talking what's happened to me. But we are not all the same and maybe you won't have any long lasting symptoms.

I don't think that the one dose will set you back. Regarding end of tapering, stay on 0.25mg as long as you can and then quit when ready. If any withdrawal symptoms appear you can take another 0.25mg when needed.

Cool, thanks!
