Former Athiests, What Changed Your Mind?

I think the dinosaurs died in the flood. Not in some asteroid. And no their technology is flawed.

In Biblical days that was just their culture. Yes to us it may of been immoral but to them it was the norm. Men could have multiple wives and they would all get along. But you do that now fight is about to break out a woman really just wanted a son.
So you agree that we can and should adjust our adherence to Scriptural teachings along with changing social norms?

For instance, these days men can shave their faces however they wish and eating shrimp is no longer an abomination-- nor is homosexuality.

They didn't know that cooking crab or shrimp at a certain temp would kill off all the bad bacteria and no I know more homosexuality then straight friends I was practically raised by them. Most love more then any self Righteous Christian

I do however still feel it's against everything God intended but I have sin too, it's just different

I expect that meteor made a splash that reached out of the atmosphere, flinging parts of life out there where it may have found a home and evolved alongside us, we just don't know it yet.
God wouldn't tell us if that happened, many of us want science to find out how the universe works, not because it's an alterntive to God, but because it's interesting and he hasn't given us that knowledge yet.
I'm not religious, but I can see different points of view.
When you are talking about something infinite and everywhere, why would it not be in science?
The only time there will be utter peace is when Christ comes back and will make His Iron Rod crush nations. Then He will recieve the respect He alone deserves. There will still be population and Christ will break the knees of any who defy Him. Blessed is he who partakes in the 1st resurrection. Where the second death has no power.
Why is Christ going to break the knees of those who defy him? Anyone doing kneecappings never seemed that Christ-like to me, far from it. He ought to learn to live and let live, y'know.

Because He is Holy. And it's His Reign not ours. He gave man the Age of sin. Now it's the Age of Sinlessness breaking knees is a metaphor for He will not put up with it. Each Nation will utterly respect Him. With His Iron Rod who are His immortal ppl will dash nations into pieces. I would rather be ruled by a King who died for me then any depraved president. As you can see, our system doesn't work.

Darwin was a Christian. He never argued for evolution instead of Creation. He just pointed out that this was how God did it.
The first time I ever heard of Christains having a problem with evolution was in 2003 when a cousin from America was telling me some extreme Christians wouldn't let their kids go to school because they'd be taught science like the big bang and evolution. I was shocked and didn't really believe him, but there's no denying it now, it's such a well known philosophy now. We had heard that there was shock and outcry at the time, but why has it resurfaced so long afterwards? Is it really just social media repeating anything in echo chambers until people think it's real?

Yup, it's engraved into kids. Evolution will only lead to oblivion. No hope whatsoever, do I delight in death, no. You can have the most profound genius mind and miss the mark so badly.

You'll never understand how everything works. It's only when you have obtained the Immortal body that God promises to those who love Him. It's like we will get the answer before we ask the question.

Now it's the Age of Sinlessness As you can see, our system doesn't work.
You're in the US? I agree your version of how to run a country is flawed, a two party state is only different from a one party state if there is a difference between them, but both in the US are similar, you need to be very very rich, that makes people of a certain type, nothing to choose between.

What is engraved into kids? Kids believe what you tell them, aka santa claus is real. Are you saying that a child is somehow damaged by learning scientific theories?

Look at the Nation on the brink of ruin. It's cuz we since the damn sixties when the Beatles came out we have went down a deep deep hole. It doesn't surprise he was shot. Still the explosion of the music industry. The curses drugs put on America. Yet there is hope if there is time but it's almost up. I would suggest you go up.

The Scopes Trial, also known as the Monkey Trial, took place in Dayton, TN which is about 30 miles down the road from where I live.
It made international news in 1925 and there have been heated debates now & then ever since about teaching evolution in schools-- and not just in the South.

edit: Incidentally, two of America's most famous lawyers argued the case: William Jennings Bryan (prosecution) and Clarence Darrow (defense)

There are also.people (not just in the USA) that believe the earth is flat. I actually know one of those people.

If you think about it. It just could be flat. Just so wonderfully designed marble it looks round.

sonicwhite is so over the top with the earth might be flat and Jesus is gonna bust kneecaps and science is evil, etc. that I'm starting to think he's just trolling.

Does this happen???
I've only ever heard of former religious people becoming atheists, I've never heard of an atheist then believing in God...I mean, there's no evidence, proof or logical argument whatsoever for their being a God, so I'm not sure HOW someone could be convinced

Orangemen claim to be about God and religion, but they are nothing more than hate-filled bastards who glorify warfare and therefore attract those who are attracted to violence. RIP
I've always wondered this; Judas had to betray Jesus as part of God's plan. God could have planned it another way, but he chose Judas to be the bad guy and do the deed. Judas did as he was scripted like an obedient puppy and then hates himself so much for it that he hangs himself.
I find myself puzzled as to why Judas was the real evil bad guy. On the cross Jesus asks God why he's doing it, doesn't ask Judas why he did it, y'know, because he was just doing his bit
Any thoughts?

What the hell are "Orangemen"?

The orgins and nature is your clearest sign of His divine attributes. Then there's your conscience. Would you ever molest a child. No! So I guess you have one. Then the Word became flesh and dwelled among man. You completely missed my point about the earth. It lays in a dimension you cannot see. It's probably round tho like a Marblehead
