That is some sad stuff. It is disgusting that all the drugs are polluted with- who even knows??

It is poison and it is horrific!

This "War on Drugs" needs to end right NOW! People obviously need and /or want drugs so why not make it a legal, clean, business making, economy boosting, SAFE business! For many! Life saving medication for a lot of us!

Haha! I am like the mother hen of the tapering thread. Lol! I look at it as more (the supportive and social thread) but yeah, I can't help it. My sign of the zodiac is Cancer and I am like a Mother to the World. Nobody I don't mother. Lol!

Thanks for the compliment. I did have my shit together and I still do. It just feels like I don't to me because I am not able to work and I am out of money. I'm working on changing that though. I'm not used to being actually physically unable to work and not working and not having any money. I don't like those things!

There is much I stil want and need to do! I'm working hard on rehabilitation of my poor body but I just don't think I can do any better. I'm pretty much looking at my level of disability and it is unacceptable to me.

Hello fellow Bluelighters -

I tapered 90 mg oxy/methadone/ms contin after 17 yrs pain mgt when OH doctor go shut down by DEA. I tapered over 7 weeks and couldn't sleep after 17 days In January and used methadone again until June when I ran out. Now I drink over a fifth of vodka a day and Lyrica which is weak and Ambien for sleep. Grateful to have those scripts. They have screwed chronic pain patients and deaths of despair are up! I'm definitely on the Dark Side!

I'm in the States so I don't think anyone is online now. In reading the posts, I see some familiar names - much respect to my fellow BL's for putting their struggles out there.

Dopejay, don't start drinking, please. I haven't had an opioid since June so I have gotten over the physical withdrawal but traded for a sick alcohol addiction of over a fifth of vodka a day in 4 months time. I have shakes after about 12 hours after last drink. It is horrible and scary. Opioid withdrawal is hell but isn't lethal - alcohol withdrawal is. Much respect and love.

I helped my late father detox from alcohol over 30 days. I guess I have to do the same for me now or I will die like he did. That would be cutting back by 1 oz (30 ml) per day. Now it is between 25-33 oz (750 - 1000 ml) per day. Thinking about going to AA but there are some overzealous people there. I got off opioids but now the chronic pain remains, physically and mentally. How did I become an alcoholic in 4 months?!! I'm pissed at myself and ashamed. I always said alcohol was the poor man's drug. I'm not poor materially, maybe spiritually, but now I've become my dad! Please pray for me.

I'm so happy to see you but absolutely so sad to hear this news my friend.

It has been four months since this kind of drinking started. It is only going to get much worse and you are correct. Alcohol withdrawal is lethal in 99% of cases! I don't think you are in too deep yet to where you cannot wean/ taper yourself down but you must do this right away! I'm so sorry that your chronic pain has driven you to this point. Shame on the medical system and the government!

Sweet leaf, liver failure is SO fucking painful! You are damaging your liver and are headed into that territory. I can barely eat and digest food. It sucks so bad!

Please get to the methadone clinic or just tell them you are an addict so you can get some suboxone if need be! I know that it is ridiculous that people with real pain and suffering cannot get help but addicts can! I have heard that both of these medications do help for pain!

What about the medical marijuana? Last I heard from you, you were using that. Is that not an option or not helping anymore?
You had also said the Lyrica was helping a lot but not anymore with that either apparently huh? Oh sweet lady, we need to get you in better shape. Please stick around. Talk to us. We love you.

New plan.... switch back to Loperamide before I run out of oxy(3days to switch). Get back to probably a year long taper off Loperamide. Dont go back to oxy. Ever.

I am certain that plan will work if I can resist the temptation to use oxy for pain relief. Just before I got my new script this last time I was starting to feel normal. I thought it really would work to use oxy to quit lope and Lyrica. It did not work. Loperamide wds are worse than oxy wds, way deeper into my soul. Like I brought home a huge truck, too big to fit into my parking space, and now my brain has to park her little oxy on the street.

Oh Squeaky. I know. The Loperamide withdrawal was really, really bad but it can be done. I did it.
I don't think you are thinking this out with your plan above. Hear me out but know I understand and will be here to support you through whatever you choose.

You know the Lope has got to go brother. It could kill you or worse! Way worse.
The tapering off for a year? That is going to just be slow torture and you will end up having to go through it anyway. There is just no way around it.

I made it through by just sticking to my prescribed dosage of morphine no matter what. That at least keeps your brain in some kind of comfort while the Lope withdrawal is an entirely different experience. It is like a peripheral full body withdrawal. I documented it on this thread if you want to go back and have a look. The worst part did not last very long. The worst was some type of muscle contractions in the arms especially and burning for a couple days and nights.

You are already 7 days in! Don't go back to the loperamide. Please. You can do it! Just keep a total sense of humor about it, I was laughing a lot of the time because it was so ridiculous.

Yeah that would be me also.
My sleep schedule is still not back to normal but the nightmares are gone and I am sleeping from like 8:00 p.m. To 5:00 a.m. Now.

I feel so much better honestly! It was worth it. The Loperamide is what is fucking up your sleep.

Damn i got some catching up to do. All this legal weed has had me in a coma for the last two days (FUCK yes).

Ladies, when i said mother hen i didn't mean you were little old ladies! Jesus Christ! I have no doubt in my mind that you are beautiful women, inside And out.

Sweetleaf, I've been a heavy daily drinker for the last 3 years. I am gonna tell you, being that i am as heavy a drinker as tommy Shelby from peaky blinders, that for me tapering doesn't work with alcohol at all.

Maybe you should talk to a dr about getting on diazepam? It sucks that happened to your doctor. Same thing happened to our good pain doctor here. Wish people would learn to mind their own fucking business and leave us pain patients and our drs in peace!

That's what we're all here for, support is it not? I see a sharp improvement in everyone's daily lives since we all started talking amongst each other as well. Seems like everyone on this thread is getting along better now that first when i started frequenting here.

And I agree, prohibition is fucking stupid. For one it doesn't reduce harm or deter use, it just punishes people that do. For two it doesn't even fight crime it fucking funds it!

If opium were legalized in the states and Canada tomorrow the overdose crisis would vanish.

The only drugs that should be prohibited are drugs that can be immediately dangerous to someone BESIDES the user. Examples would be meth, pcp, rohypnol (primarily used in date rape), fentanyl ( is basically a chemical weapon), etc.

The rule I follow is anything less harmful than alcohol should be legal. Simple! The most harmful drug in the world is alcohol, so why should one be denied opium for medical purposes? Or even recreational?

My body is MY temple, and I'll put whatever the fuck I want in it.

Rant end lol.

Thank you Painful One and Dopiejay for the support and love! I'm on the max dose of Lyrica that dr will prescribe (450 mg) and Ambien CR 12.5 mg at night. The medical marijuana is only what I can get underground and I pay out the ass for it lol. It doesn't help much anymore because it hurts lungs too much to get the relief I need and I don't have access to edibles. All I can get at the moment is thc vape cartridges. I decreased my vodka intake by 4 oz yest. So far today, I'm holding steady and hopefully don't exceed 20 oz. If I can't taper off vodka I will check into diazepam or suboxone. I'm sure I would qualify as a chronic pain patient taking 90 mg oxy/day for 17 yrs. I'm also a hot blonde and don't want to ruin my liver or my looks. I love you too Painful One. xoxo -SweetLeaf7
