The 'What Have You Bought Recently?' Thread - V2 - Second mortgage on my wardrobe

I dunno, I lived there for 3 months, and really didn't like it myself. City centre's nice enough, but found the nightlife boring, and it was winter whilst I was there so pretty cold. The hostel I stayed at was pretty boring too. However weed there is dirt cheap, and the job I worked at carried on paying me $1700 every fortnight for 3 months after I left!! That was fucking nice.

Well Grandmaster Flash is really a DJ first and foremost, who pioneered a lot of the hiphop cutting techniques, so wouldn't surprise me if his tunes are ghost produced. Still a legend. I actually watched a youtube interview with him talking about how he learned how to cut, which as a DJ was pretty interesting, but the guy came across as a total twat. This is the video. Worth a watch for anybody interested in DJing

Bought some new monitors, which is kinda ironic as my mixer is fucked at the moment, but for £120 I just couldn't turn them down. Mixer will have to wait till next payday; think a Xone 43, unless I can get a 2nd hand 92 for cheap. Standard KRK's but my old Numarks were shit haggard

I've got the 8's. My missus hates them as they're huge! Not a fan of Allen & Heath mixer's as I find the spacing between the eq's and the trim is far too tight. Not tried the 43 though, so maybe that's no longer an issue with them dropping from a 4 to a 3 band eq.

Yeah I know what you mean on the 92, but never found myself altering the highs by mistake. The 43 is way more spaced out

I got a new watch the other day also

(Not sure if anyone is interested in this - As per the warning issued recently about removing personal details from your pictures before sharing them etc, there is a free software called Batch Purifier lite, when you launch the software you get a small window you simply drag and drop your image into the window and in five clicks its done.)

OH MY DAYS those are gorgeous K! WANT!

Here, I keep meaning to tell you, there is a really nice fabric shop just down from me. You should take a look. Nice fabrics and LOADS of choice. I don't know about price though as I've never been in, I just admire on the way to and from work. Just a thought <3

PS, I want to steal those red pair!

OMG a fabric shop! When can we go?

I was just thinking we need a girls pyjama night soon, sounds like a plan could be forming ;)

Haberdashery followed by dinner out followed by a p-jammy night in making stuff %)

<3

We'll "iron out" some plans Asap ( gawd it's obvious I spend so much time with Shambles )

Just get in touch and we can sort something out. Sounds good xx

Dude, I remember My shoe thread summat like 6 years ago and you loved it! They were hawt shoes though. More sexy time than just day to day time. No one creams over day to day shoes. They' ve gotta be hot!

Just splashed out on a bottle of this:

Eh missus I cream over day time shoes - those above are for day wear ;) A bit like my other apparel collections I'm a dedicated collector of footwear for every occasion :D

Not sure if its even worth asking for the shoe thread to be resurrected from the archives, there's so few ladies on here to make it worthwhile. Though there may be a few blokes who have appreciation and a few others who would like to showcase their tootsie wear. Julie I'm looking at you, you do a fine gladiator sandal.

In nail varnish news I've reverted back to the olde french polish.

As in:

Halloween?!? Those are to wear with navy and black boring work wear. The navy shoes look better than their pic, they zip up the back unlike me (my hubby would love me to a zip it lol =D). Really nice on with a skirt suit and navy opaque tights.

Suede if anything is so, so comfy.

In serious news the man is a keen recycler. I'm pissed off with having separate bins all over the place for landfill, plastics, metals, paper, glass, food waste etc

I seen this and thought let's give it a try. Better than a multitude of separate bins.
8429054_R_Z001A_UC1255752

So far I'm liking it, but it needs labels. Likley get another one for the other recycle-stuff :\

Ooooh nice bin! ( I can't believe I'm even saying that )

We've given up on the great bin search. Just a re-usable bag that can be easily taken down for plastics and paper stuffs. Any glass as and when needed and we finally got a bin for just general rubbish. We already have a compost bin so ....

The thing is, our general rubbish takes so long to fill up as we recycle most of our rubbish.

I still want to steal those read shoes. Very good purchase and it seems it's not just me that thinks so. Very very cute and my style too. YUM!

It is definitely difficult to get excited over a recycle bin :|

However, I've researched whats on offer ( remember we went to ikea and it was the only thing on my shopping list as well as napkins, but didn't come back with any recycle bin but a good £60+ of other must have stuff + a large plate of meatballs in my tummy:eek:)

However the man is dead keen on it and spends time making sure it's all done correctly and put out at the correct time in the correct place etc. Alas this often means me getting a eh "reminder" at how shit (eh, lax and sloppy..) I am at it. I try, but obviously I could try a bit more... 8)

Still it's a snazzy bin. I recommend.

It must be something about the men folk, Sham is super focused about recycling. Everything must be rinsed and washed before it goes into the recycle bin. He makes sure I don't put something into the wrong bin. He's pretty on the ball with it all. I'm a bit more laid back when it comes to putting out the rubbish.

" snazzy" Oh my days.

Haha yeh "snazzy" because I can do Abba and Bee Gee disco numbers by pressing the pedals =D... whilst recycling at the same time of course ;)

Night fever, night fever yoo hoo... :|

I demand this be a kitchen dance tradition Shambles, since I missed the chance to boogie on down at your place that last visit. Damn I miss all the best dances =D

Rinsed and washed? pointless and a waste of both water, cleaning products, the energy used in the process of supplying, cleaning and treating the water, as well as any cleaning products you might use and for that matter the ATP used to power cellular respiration when you move your muscles to turn taps or scrub shit.

Two other reasons it is utterly pointless. Any glass or plastic isn't recycled in the state it is in when you toss it into the recycling bin, as proof of that pudding, they would stipulate no broken glass or damaged bottles. It all has to be melted down. And for paper it would have to be bleached, and sent all the way back through the pulp states, including treatment with oxidizing agents.

Think a bit of burnt-on baked beans and tomato sauce is capable of surviving the temperatures required to melt steel? how about molten glass and beer stains, bits of coagulated milk protein?

Don't waste your (or his, rather) time, there just is not the least point in cleaning them. They do it. And so I've heard, quite a bit ends up in chinese landfill sites. Thats nice of them, no?

Giving a shit is good, Do give a shit, hell give two. Just don't fill a bathtub with faeces and snorkle in it singing ave fuckin' maria.

Ha ha ha fair point you make limpet, as always but it's more for the rotting smell in the recycling bins from food waste left on the containers than anything else. we don't have a garden hose to wash it out. It's obviously worse in the summer months.

Also, some councils are strict about it. If you read the rules here you're to not only wash tins out but also remove the paper labels on them. Yeah, that never happens. Well, unless Sham is taking care of the rubbish ;) I dont know anyone that does.
