Feeling a lot happier this. Week. No callouts on the rapid response car just office work. Still doing cost cutting shit and since I'm the only paramedic in the office I at least have a say. The future will hold what it will hold I've just got to plod on. Life could be worse I suppose. The PAWS hasn't been too bad thing week either.

Having said that I just want to be back on the road full time but any job is better than no job and work are so supportive. One piece of advice I would give is that if you start a new job join unison. The fees is minimal and their help is Invaluable. Noone thinks anything bad will happen to them and think they don't need a union rep but fate is a cruel mistress...... I should know.
 
They did loads for me Evey..... More than I could ever expected and my union rep is an advanced technician at the same station as me in Sunderland.
He's I great bloke with a kind heart who has restored my faith in the human race.

Sid the spannish lessons went well n that you enjoyed them. I've always wanted to learn Spannish but never got round to it, know the odd word / phrase but that's it :) I'm not very good at languages myself I don't really know me own language, Welsh lol. Maybe you could share a bit of what you with us each week.

Maybe I missed any discussion about it or maybe you all missed it but I highly recommend if you get the chance to watch Panorama from a couple of nights ago. The subject 'Hooked on painkillers'. it's there on BBC Iplayer if you are interested. Watched it last night, very sad viewing, raises a lot of questions about culpability in my mind..Gps now prescribing three times more opioid drugs than a few years ago...and then the patients are having to seek detox/rehab.. The man taking the equivalent of NINE THOUSAND co-codamol a day...wow..

Thanks for telling us, inflo. Will have a look on iPlayer later. They are quick to prescribe codeine n lots of it. When I had my L5/S1 disk herniation (slipped disc) I was prescribed 100 zapain n then on repeat. No physio n at that time, had not yet had MRI, was never offered physio so went to a chiro. They're too quick to prescribe before looking at other methods to relieve pain.

I have to agree with getting from a shelter when possible, ours quickly became part of the family and the house felt really strange when we put him in the cattery before we left on holiday.

Hey folks,

I've had a day of lounging, bit of calisthenics, cartoons with me kids. Was supposed to be heading to worksite today but still waiting for funds to clear. Won a motorcycle on auction in the USA today that I don't strictly need, but a triumph for $200 can't be passed up, even though it will be a two grand bike by the time I pay export, freight, import duty and port tariffs here.

Gotta go; there's a 20 month old in the jacks screaming for me to come and wash her arse!

I'm very much in a recovery tired state today. Waiting on a phone call from work as I've had to take two days off because the cunts pushed me too far. Also, comments made were not acceptable. Someone is going down. ATM it's me, I can barely sit up!
