I'd love a late 80's Ferrari 412. 4.9L V12, Black with tan leather interior. Gear box will grind, the radio will need upgrading but that throaty roar

As someone who does their own mechanical work and doesnt have money to throw at someone and say "Fix this" or "make it fast".I would never own an exotic, I already owned one money pit now im sticking to making econoboxes fast.Once you buy the turbo and engine management its easy to move it to another vehicle with a little bit of fabrication and I can take pride in the fact I built it myself.JoeTheStoner I dont like bro-dozers which is what that thing is, so pretty the owners would cry if they got a spec of mud on them. You see so many of these 'pavement pounders' or 'parkinglot princesses' in western canada, lifted 50ft and never sees a gravel road let alone any mud lol.

Here's the money pit I owned, once:

Yeah ive had a few cars and ive had 2 corolla's and i have never had a problem with eather till about 250000

98-02 and the next gen had problems where toyota used rings not rated for the heat generated in the combustion chamber which led to them wearing and the engines consuming oil.If one isnt consuming oil, it will.
I just see that as an excuse to dig into my motor and re-ring and throw in some new pistons since I plan to turbo it.I paid for that piggy back ecu a few posts up today so it should be shipping out td/tm and I been talking on facebook with this really nice dude from kentucky who will do a remote tune for me for free but i'll chuck him some money since that shit usually costs a lot.

nice R32, Mike. Almost bought a Pulsar GTI-R at one point but I wouldn't have been able to afford parts for a car with no USDM equivalent. Plus there are issues trying to insure LHD cars. Ont. is the most car-unfriendly province in the country, we're always stuck between the law and the private insurers (rock and a hard place). You know shit is fucked when all the guys who used to tool on Civics are buying sport-badged BMWs because they're a more affordable option.

My brother lives in Indonesia for the past 10 years so he has given me one of his cars to babysit. 1977ish 911. I fucking hate it. Too loud, no air conditioning and totally impractical. I wish he had left me the 7 series BMW.

Insurance was $1800/yr for public liability and this was in 2008 and only one company would insure me.Did you know the GTI-R has an umbrella holder in the drivers door jamb? If you're lucky the umbrella will still be there.

Not hard to tell you're not an enthusiast, just a yuppie.

haha i had no idea about that umbrella thing, how rolls-royce of them. I'm pretty fortunate to be paying <$1000/yr for insurance, it's all private insurers in Ont. so if you have ever gotten so much as a speeding ticket you could be paying $2000/yr to insure a fucking Kia.

Insurance is private everywheres in canada besides bc im pretty sure and ask someone from bc about dealing with icbc they're a nightmare. They have a tendency to undervalue written off cars.Yeah the umbrella was pretty baller of them, 99% of jdm cars come with a road flare too.I pay $545/yr for liability

Enthusiast is just another name for sick of my wife so I collect rust buckets.

I prefer my 4WD toyota for camping on the beaches and heading into the hills. I would cringe if I owned a Range Rover for instance and covered it in salt and sand every weekend. I was sad when my mate sold his Baracuda that he inherited from his father.

That thing was sex on wheels.

muscle cars are nice but way too much money and unless you're filthy rich it doesn't make sense to even try to drive them hard after spending so much on basic parts. friend of mine has a Nova and a decent manual trans cost him 7k. for less than half that i could blow up my whole drivetrain on a friday, replace everything and be back on the road by sunday night. then there's the issue of outdated suspension, outdated brakes, outdated fuel system... a lot of stuff you need to replace with expensive aftermarket parts. for someone who wants to do the work themselves it's a nightmare

Can you really put a price on a pussy magnet though?

I do agree about the engineering. There is a reason modern cars have evolved so. It is a shame that very few modern designs really capture the imagination like a lot of classics do. Even when they try and create a "retro" feel, 9/10 they are just disappointed bastardized imitations.

i like some station-wagons. bmw and audi both make great looking wagons:
Excellent :)

I see lots of BMW's, and it's like each one I see is a different model, there are heaps! I went through every model available the BMW website a couple of weeks ago to try and see if there was a wagon I thought was nice, but hadn't considered Audi. I will have to have a browse.

My boyfriend suggested that I get an mr2 turbo. I checked out some pictures of the car and I kinda like it :) he also said he could see me in a vw rabbit. also I want a Subaru wrx sti (he use to have one and they sound amazing), obviously a gtr lmao but that's way too much power for a 100 lb girl who really doesn't know how to drive and hasn't even driven on a busy street. I also wanted a super Beatle, a vw bus (but I'm realistic and know that wouldn't be a good first car), Audi has nice cars too. Evos are nice too but after learning about the pros and cons of evos and Subarus, id much rather have a subbi.

Learn to drive a shitty car fast first then upgrade to something with power or else you may find yourself wrapped around a pole.

Volvo.

Stealth, motherfuckers.

"But but no way that soccer mom mobile just beat my mustang"

But she may well have a few kgs on the back seat and no narc motherucker is going to pull her over.

Who "wins"?
She does, cos shes not a wage slave to a dick on wheels, like the fancy automobile clicque.

Status/muscle cars are for narcisticists with phallic insecurities. In my opinion.
Not trolling. Honest opinion.

That's why I want a Subaru, because they handle great and my bf had two and is a great driver. It might be ideal for him to teach me in a car that handles like a champ that he's very familiar in. What car would you recommend?
