MDMA Recovery (Stories & Support)

Afraid not dude ): the first few weeks i made crazy improvement, then in the second month i made moderate improvement, and since then i haven't really improved at all /: it might be situational though, i very recently split up with my boyfriend, we only just moved house at home and on top of all that my contract at work is ending soon so I'm moving back home until I'm better, and our new house is way out in the sticks, which makes my depression way worse (I have been living in London which i love, but unfortunately i was only able to afford it because i was living rent free at my now ex boyfriends...).

Although i hate driving with dp/Dr i don't have a choice where i am now, so I'm just trying to get over the fear so I'm able to get myself into the city as much as i can. I'm hoping once I've joined some nearby social groups, started cbt and started meds (all of which i plan to do in the coming weeks) my recovery will kickstart again. I hope it will, because like i said right now there are a lot of external things stressing me out (the very messy breakup being number 1) and I'm basically living out of a suitcase, staying temporarily with people in London for my part time job then going home again every week.

Hopefully once my life has settled a bit more and I'm a bit more busy socially things will look up :) yeah just passed the four month mark, on month five of chronic dp/Dr and fatigue, and it sucks ass, but I'm trying to live as best i can

India, you can't give up. I'd say month 6 is a benchmark for a lot of people as far as having major improvements. That's also when I decided to take Paxil and I've felt better every week since minus a couple week adjustment period where it made me sicker. I've been resting a lot and haven't really been through a lot of stress like you other than what we're going through. Well, I take that back, going broke is pretty stressful. The good news is I feel good enough to actively seek a career job again albeit with no time to spare. Just keep going! I am slowly crawling to 100% recovery. Even the brain fog or cognitive issues that sort of hung around is beginning to go away completely.

Pmz yes I'm sure a lot of people can relate to the constantly stoned feeling, myself included. Besides the Dr/dp and fatigue it's one of my main problems, i have zero capacity to learn new things at work or even pay attention to what people are saying half the time. Having an even slightly in depth conversation with someone is like solving a difficult maths equation. Bearing in mind I'm driving like this, meaning even short journeys leave me exhausted because I'm trying so hard to concentrate. This like every other symptom should resolve with time

@hunter1: Long Term Comedown, caused by MDMA
I think youre right lovelife, but i actually dont get it done in the moment. Ive lost nearly all my hobbies and cant consume anything else(coffeine, thc, alcohol....) it feels like i have nothing i liked before this hole shit started.
Maybe thats why Im smoking so much. Before this started I was a half pack a day smoker. Now i smoke one pack a day, sometimes less.
@Jwills20: CV Effects?

If your symptoms are still that severe, I recommend getting on an anti-depressant and also a benzo like Xanax. I rarely need to take Xanax anymore, but when I do the combination of Paxil plus Xanax completely eliminates any symptoms. And, again, my symptoms at almost 7 months are very mild when they flare up. Remember too, I was still feeling pretty sick up until about 6 months or just a month ago. That's when I really started having windows where my symptoms were very mild or virtually gone and it's only gotten better. I was still feeling a bit off cognitively until just recently, which is why I am ready to get back to work.

Also, think about this, the old threads and even people that were posting still when I first came here are now mostly gone. What does that tell you? They've recovered and have moved on with their lives. They no longer need this community. You'll get there too!!!

anyone have experience with an extremely dry skin or skin rashes? I have never had this before and the itch is killing me.

"The skin is a sensitive organ that relies on effective blood flow and lubrication. During anxiety, as blood flow to the skin decreases, it can become dry, itchy and sore. Some people also find that they develop acne or skin blemishes. This si quite normal during high anxiety."

I also have itchy skin most of the time.

Do whatever makes you feel comfortable, questioning what you can and can't do is a part of the anxiety. I'm still doing this a little bit as well, but it's getting way better (felt like I couldn't drink sugar, alcohol, caffeine, even dairy at one point). I then realised it was my fear and concentration when ingesting that was flipping my anxiety out. Try drinking, and when I say drinking, I mean having fun with friends and forgetting about it all. Your/my recovery depends on your/my mindset. Really, live life like nothing ever happened, as hard as it is. You really get better, apart from my eye floaters and my moderate level of anxiety day to day, I'm absolutely fine sticking to that.

Please remember that an LTC isn't actually real.

Quite interesting read. Not entirely sure if it's applies in any direction to my case, but I won't dwell on it.

My eye floaters are becomming more clumpy, and grey instead of translucid and long. They are worsening and thats fucking annoying. any tips for that?

Are you on any medications? Or are you consuming any recreational drugs?

Opioids for example can cause very dry skin because they lower testosterone levels over time by increasing the secretion of prolactin IIRC.

If you are not using any drugs at all, and you are experiencing this, then perhaps you should see a physician about it.

I'd ask to get my testosterone levels checked, as well as a referral to a dermatologist. Who knows what they may find.

I should note that dry skin is extremely common for many reasons. It can be due to so many things that I don't know what else to say about it (since we haven't met), sorry.

You're ready to get back to work?! That's awesome, I'm so happy for you! Um... are you happy about going back to work?

You might be feeling nervous right? I know the feeling (if you are) because I was also concerned at first that I wouldn't be able to handle it.

Don't be surprised if you temporarily need to increase the amount of times you use your Xanax due to starting work again, as there's a lot of pressure usually associated with such a thing.

That being said, I think you'll do just fine, and I wish you all the best.

Again, I'm so happy to hear that you're feeling so much better - even if we don't know each other.

What you have been through, and what I have been through - I wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy. It's really that bad.

In a way, I wish I could have my memory of the years 2005, 2006, and the first few months of 2007 wiped from my brain. Oh well...

Thanks! It's partly because I have to and partly because I do feel that much better. I'm a little nervous about the stress level, but I've felt the best since I upped my dosage of Paxil. That's when my slight cognitive issues seemed to fade away. I'm pretty damn close to 100%, but not quite there yet. I'm sure in the next couple of months I will be. .

Whoa. I just watched a really suspenseful movie and my heart never beat so much. Felt good.
