EMD Lets Talk Trance - The New and Official Trance Discussions Thread

^ I didn't know what to think of that track when it came out (sounded like Emma was trying too hard to change her voice for the effect...though the video for the original is AWESOME, in my opinion)...but I like the Popov remix a lot. Thanks for sharing it...that track seemed prime for a remix.

The door lady at my gym commented on the Ministry of Sound tank top I was wearing. Spoke about having seen Paul Oakenfold there back in the day and it being the time of her life. Too bad she was old :|. But today is Oakenfold day, regardless...

Paul Oakenfold feat. Brittany Murphy - Faster Kill Pussy Cat (Nat Monday Remix)

Paul Oakenfold - Southern Sun (Paul Webster Remix)

Yeah, Im not a huge fan of the original either. But Popovs remix is fiiiire.

THATS the track?! I fucking loooooove it. I havent listened to it in in sooo long, must listen now.

Paging euphoria...I listened to that mix you posted, now you listen to this one.

2000-01-09_-_Scott_Bond_-_Essential_Mix

Holds a special place in my heart from my early days. Takes about 15 minutes to get going, but is incredibly hypnotic after that. Scott Bond is a master at selecting tracks for a set.

Ya see, I'd love that track, and a lot of the other recent postings if it wasn't for the damn vocals. I was brought up on stuff seemed like vocals were frowned on as something purists just didn't taint their electronica with. All these are probably unbearably old hat maybe not even qualifying as trance these days I dunno and no doubt have been posted elsewhere already but this was what was meant by quality trance early 90s when I was out:

Absolutely seminal track, like nothing else at the time. Genre defining:

Vapourspace - Gravitational Arch Of 10 (Magnetic Gravity Arc Suite/Mixed)

Massive locally, C J Bolland kinda home turf round Leeds early 90s, good as resident DJ regularly playing The Orbit in Morley but never got to see him unfortunately.

C J Bolland - Ravesignal III - Horsepower (Original Mix)-(1991)

C J Bolland - Mantra (1992)

Stupidly wonky earlyish psychedelic trance took me the best part of 20 years to track down on mp3. Still sounds immense off yer 'ead. Never did get to hear it in a club with proper bass.

The Martian - Stardancer (1993)

Just old-school huge, ripping up dance-floors tunes:

The Age Of Love (Jam & Spoon mix) (1992)

Country & Western - Reincarnation (1993)

A list of songs that give me flashbacks to the dancefloor I was on while they played:

I'll always remember being wrapped up in your arms, face to face, singing and your lips on mine while we stood there. I could've sworn we were the only 2 people there.
Super8 & Tab feat. Julie Thompson - My Enemy (Rank 1 Remix)

I fell in love with Markus in 2009. This was the song I got my first lightshow (lol) to. This & Dustin Zahn's Stranger to Stability remind me most of Markus during that year.
Markus Schulz - Perfect (Feat Dauby)

All of my playlists will always have at least one track from TATW 350. That night and the feelings we felt are indescribable and you wouldn't understand unless you were there.
Lange - Harmonic Motion (Genix Remix)

One of my all time favorite tracks. Always. I get chills thinking about the way the crowd erupts every time this is dropped. God bless Cosmic Gate.
Cosmic Gate - Fire Wire (Cosmic Gate's Back 2 The Future Remix)

This will always remind me of you, Sasha and that crazy night we spent at Monster so many years ago. You were my best friend, I still can't believe that drugs are what ended our 12 year run. I hope you're safe baby girl<3
Luminary - Amsterdam (Smith and Pledger Remix)
