Opioids Canadian Opioid Users

I have a Canadianfriend. He says some pretty funny stuff about newfys. Is this ok or is it offensive to a Newfoundlanders?

I somehow get the idea that it's like telling Polish jokes which is not cool. Am I right or wrong?

I wouldnt go around saying newfie jokes to any newfies unless you know them well. It's a very dangerous practice :\

yeah, thanks for setting me straight on that. I loved the Canadian Comedy team of Wayne ans Shuster and all their acts had a Newfy in it.

I love that type humor. I did furnace work for a living and did a job for a guy from NewFoundland, and he made me take a break to eat dinner. Wow did the chow taste good. I knocked off 25 bucks from the bill it was so good,

But thanks for the heads up on that.

yeh, newfies are basically the polacks of North America. i should know, my last name ends in wicz. :)

Opiods in Ontario

dry as hell right now. Whats the weather like for opioids in Ontario?

In ottawa i think the scene is dead for dope at least.

hey does anyone know what the heroin is like in toronto right now? im from london right now and theres NOTHING HERE...Is there anything in or around london/toronto? happy hunting all!

I wouldn't count on finding heroin in Ontario. I've seen every pharmaceutical opiate out there but never H. There's just no underground heroin economy here like there is in the US or Vancouver. Oxycodone is your best bet for a real opiate with somewhat okay availability. I think you'd have a higher chance finding pharmaceutical diamorphine than you would underground heroin.

Hm Im not sure Pepper...if you look back in the thread theres several people in the London/Toronto area who said they had connects but I guess its all about who you know.

There's definitely an underground market for heroin in Toronto. I see new stories from time to time about drug arrests where heroin is involved. Like a day ago in the the star there's something about an Asian guy who was arrested with heroin for the trafficking but got his case thrown out. It's out there but just hard to find.

Mmmk, I suppose I could see it being in Toronto. Large asian population and they just need to get a relative to send them a package in the mail. I suppose in that sense it would start filtering into the market. In the broad sense though the diverted pharmaceutical opioid market dwarfs the "underground from the start", imported opioid market.

When i was in Ottawa it was easy to get heroin but the cost was nuts so i never bothered. With cheap morphine pills available and relatively cheap (atleast compared to heroin) hydromorphone pills available i didn't bother with heroin of unknown quality that was pricey as fuck.

In montreal getting shit aint easy. Theres many people just walking around that sell Dilaudid pills or Hydromorphone contin but to get some heroin is another story. You got to have a number and they deliver in their car or on bicyle. and to get these things you gotta go where it looks sketchy with crack addicts walking everywhere.

I gotta go through these sketchy ppl to get stuff not dilaudid really just dope. Got ripped off many times by stupid junkie F**kers. you get that feeling in your stomache like something will go wrong it probably will.

Hydrocodone in Canada

I was wondering if anyone had any information about this drug in Canada. I spoke with my doctor who was unfamiliar with this as an analgesic and in fact searching the Health Canada database even 5mg Hycodan tablets are classified as antitussives. My GP, who is a pretty knowledgeable guy wasn't even sure the drug was available at all in Canada. In fact he said he would be uncomfortable prescribing it as an analgesic over oxycodone or even oxymorphone or fentanyl. I know hydrocodone is first line in the US for moderate to severe pain. I was wondering if anyone knew why it hasn't achieved the same popularity in Canada.

I wouldnt know why but over here I never heard or came across any hydrocodone at all. Only time i heard about it was a trip to florida but thats a different story.

Nope, no hydrocodone in Canada. It doesn't get prescribed here for some reason, I don't think health canada has it on the list of approved medications. As far as prescription opiate analgesics goes T3's > percocets > OC > Morphine > hydromorphone > fentanyl.

Upon research apparently it is approved and there is a preparation of it in canada but I have never even heard of it being prescribed let alone seen it in the flesh. If doc's feel T3's are too weak they go straight to percocets. Which ain't so bad, from what most people report hydrocodone isn't all that great, oxycodone is much preferred.

In my experience you ought to stick demerol in between codeine and oxycodone + APAP preparations.

I forgot about demerol, but IME it would go between oxy and morphine. In any situation where something stronger than T3's was warranted, percocets are the next step. Interesting why they don't prescribe T4's; 60mg codeine, no caffeine.

Vicodin is the most prescribed medicine in the U.S. so I wonder why Canadian doctors don't prescribe hydrocodone that much.
Though, it is available in Canada in syrup and pills.
