Just learned that current and former smokers get vaccinated Mar 24th in my state. Definitely going to grab one.

The amount of people who voted no on this poll shocked me. We have antivaxxers here? I did not imagine druggies would ever be anti vax

Are you kidding? Do you know how dumb the average person is? Well, druggies are average people too, just with drug problems. :p

Also we have a few other people who seem to pretend to be druggies so they can argue conspiracy crap (they'll claim this isn't true but if you haven't stepped out of ceps once in over a year, you're not here for drugs you're here for politics) :p

Also seriously smokers and former are getting it earlier there? Interesting, I've heard nothing like that here.

Oh yeah we have a few oddities here. Like someone I know who has only ever posted in the selfie thread and to my knowledge has never talked to or responded to anyone.

Basically smokers were added to the priority list for the vaccine.... Which should have been done from the beginning since smokers have a massively bigger risk of serious covid illness and death.

They also had less chance of catching it too from the studies I read back at the time. Tbh I never looked into it again but I should just to see.

I actually got a decent immune response in the evening after getting my shot. got some fever and flu like things, heavy and tense limbs. bad sleep and the day after was also shit until the late afternoon when I finally got better. first time I got serious side effects from any vaccine. probably worth it though ;)

I wish I had a stronger immune response this this first shot. Only some lymph node swelling and injection site pain.

Few days out from the moderna myself (although I also have had the Pfizer one) and feeling pretty icky. Keep a good record of sides if you have them.
I received my second dose of moderna yesterday (it's been 22 hours). I had no side effects from the first dose except arm pain at injection site. I woke up today ~14 hours after getting the 2nd dose and have 100° fever, myalgia, and oddly enough brain zaps; I do use a hefty amount of MDMA though and experience zaps often but I noticed a few months ago during an acute salmonella infection that the brain zaps were intensified drastically while having a fever and today it feels similar. On a different forum there's a lot of discussion of people experiencing brain zaps post vaccination.

I work in healthcare. Hoping to be feeling better tomorrow. Wish I had some opiates right now lol. As others have said, I'm glad to know I have been vaccinated.

That’s odd, I’m gonna have a wee look into that. Make sure you’re reporting those sides though through the correct channels. We have a website here for doing it.

Will do.

Ya, it is this really strong woozy brain zap feeling for lack of better words. I can induce it on command by moving my eyes side to side. Though I am fairly certain my abuse/use of MDMA is a contributing factor.

What symptoms are you experiencing? And still after a few days? Sorry to hear that!

Makes ya laugh don’t it?
‘Im not having that vaccine! Who the fuck knows what’s in it?!’
Says Karen as she racks up another line of..... Fuck knows 🤦‍♀️

I get the flu shot every year just so I can get out of work for 10 minutes, and I’ll be doing that again shortly.
Just as soon as I see how many oldies die from the first roll out 😈

I feel like everyone has been vaccinated except me. ☹️
there's a lot of selection bias going on in here though... not many people taking the time to declare in here that they haven't been vaccinated yet. ;)

in my country they just finally managed to get through with the nursing homes and healthcare staff, other essential workers (like me) are just starting to get it. elders outside of institutional care can get it since very recently, general population hasn't even begun yet.

...and I'm UK, so we're quite a way ahead in general on giving first doses than most other countries.

Yeah because they are pushing back the 2nd shot to accommodate letting more get the first. A bit risky in my opinion although I see where they are coming from.

I dunno, seems like a logical choice given how bad things were getting here, and the data looks encouraging. But even if the UK wasn't doing that, it's still dishing out vaccines at a higher rate than most countries.

Oh I think it’s good they are doing so but it’s a bit too little to late in my opinion. UK has one of the highest death rates in the world.

It’s better than nothing though.

My wife had he vaccine 2/3 weeks ago - mine is on Saturday. I will be so relieved that our chances of being hit by covid are being reduced. I still won't go out much and hope to see the incidence rates fall and this pandemic to end quickly - I need to get on with boring things like holidays and going to the pub. I've heard studies showing anit-vaccine attitudes in UK have fallen from around 25% to 3 or 5% so can't quite understand what this survey is showing! Think past the paranoia and conspiracy theories please people!
