It depends on the kind of mustard and the kind of sandwich. If the mustard is strong then a tiny bit will suffice.
 
Indeed. Potato salad without dill is like potato salad without potato.
 
There are so many types of mustards. It is as essential as cheese.

And the whole issue of the Great British Butty has been ignored completely!

For all you filled-bread-snack connoiseurs:

Sandwich = two (or more) slices of bread with a filling betwixt and between.

Butty = one slice of bread folded around a filling - frequently chips with brown sauce.

Sadly this adds little to the debate as it would still depend on what the filling was, but for the sake of completeness...
