Hi All
First of all I want to say thanks for this place to write about my struggles.
I was never addicted to any OPIS until December 2010 I was 43 and had an accident at work and had 3 knee surgery's in the same year, I must say I had post trauma in my left knee due to playing soccer for 18 years in Germany.
I moved to the US in 95 started playing and coaching girls when i tore up my right knee ACL, was a quick fix I was back at work in 6 weeks and some pain killers. no problem.
My mess started in January 2011 I never experienced w/d, then all of the sudden it hit me so I got more loved the way the percs made me feel so I abused them. I always only used my prescription until last year, new job new people and i started buying 10-325 oxys 8 bucks a pop.
last time I bought from my buddy was last month, I have been trough CT's for 3-7 days almost every month until June 20014, since then I was using about 8 a day, no snorting or shooting or even mixing with Hydros, now im on the Wagon to sober land, since last Wednesday. i ripped up the written script from the Doc and flushed 60 of Hydros down the Toilet. I'm done.
I have chronic pain in the knee from the rubbing of the bones together since my meniscus is almost gone, nothing left to scrape lol.
I emailed my Doc @ Wake Forest in NC and he said why did I do that, you should taper of ....blah blah us addicts wont taper if we have access.
So he called in Clonidine .1 mg patch, i think its a godsend but lets not kid myself the road to sober is not an easy one, couldn't eat walked like a Zombie, no puking but it came out the other end.
So here I am Wednesday 5 am was my last use of Hydros, still sober.

no relief 2 different Docs told me to do a knee replacement I said hell no, I'm to young for that, and they both said you gotta live with the pain then, and use drugs, I'm a Laser Tech (industrial).
