best comedown methods?

For stuff like MD which (can) have an intense comedown, what's your best coping method?

I tend to drink on the arse end of the MD, being sure to alternate between alcoholic drinks and plenty of water. Then after two hours or so of coming down, pop abut 3-4mg etiz (with a bit of tolerance) drink more water, then drink a fair bit. Will still feel sore the day after but it will knock me out for a few hours and take the edge off the comedown.

What does everyone else do? I don't find weed anywhere near sedating enough to send me to sleep after a stim-binge.

I found taking ecstasy every three days for years on end helped. You kinda get involved in a spiral of consciousness that negates such simplistic concepts as 'up' and 'down', mainly because of the constant high and the lack of any need to go to Tesco.

The only time I have ever had a comedown is when I hammered about 1g of coke and about the same as meph on top of half a bottle of JD and didn't sleep. So my advice would be:

1) Dont overdo it in the first place.
2) Eat properly beforehand.
3) WATER
4) SLEEP
5) SLEEP
6) FUCKING SLEEP.

I think you get the idea.
 
MDMA comedowns arent that bad for me funnily enough, but it really depends.

If im not mixing with anything else in a session and as long as I stick to something like 1 or 2 average strength clean pills i can cope.

Once i start moving into taking more than that or mixing with other substances such as meph, coke, alcohol as i have in the past things get a bit worse.

I do feel a little "blue" on Tue or Wed if ive taken typically on a Fri or Sat but MDMA isnt in the same league as MDA for that scattiness that i used to get a fair bit afterwards in the late 80's and early 90's.
 
When, back at the afterparty, I'd get that instantaneous comedown feeling, I used to smoke buckets to prolong the high (and get trippy), then drink very heavily when I wanted to cancel everything and go to sleep - like downing bottles of wine etc. Wake up - go meet mates down the pub. It sort of worked, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Nowadays, I don't seem to get the same instant switch to a nasty, hollow but stimulated feeling. It just tails off pleasantly, so it never seems a problem anymore.(although I remember when it was).
 
I don't get MDMA comedowns. It just tails off gradually for me and then I fall asleep. I feel tired the next day and that's about it.

I used to get sharp comedowns off meph now and again, especially if id been hammering it on a long sesh. When that hollow feeling popped up and id ran out or was calling it a night - Weed was the best cure. Cododamol took the edge off too. never tried it but benzos are supposed to be really effective.
 
Going back to a chill out at someones is great, but 2 decades ago that equalled people passing round joints so youd kind of come up again and have a mini buzz or someone cheeky would pull out one last pill they had left and share it with you.

These days chill outs seem to equal more drugs being deilvered and consuming anything anyone can get there hands on non stop until the last person has left or collapsed 2 days later...

The whole culture has completley changed

That reminds me, the first time I ever did meph (a gram of nice stuff over a weekend, CLEVER considering I only weigh about 8 stone and had no tolerance) I had a deathly comedown, lasted about a week, kind of got to the stage where I was wondering if I'd ever feel normal but again, that was just from me being stupid and overdoing it (majorly). Now I sleep like a baby after anything and feel fabulous the next day*

*Could be because I have an overload of fabulousness, however. YMMV.

Best answer is don't take drugs tbh ;)

EDIT: As for co codamol, I noticed my step dad had a load of it which I vaguely eyed up before remembering I don't like opies.
 
Ketamine. Perfect for Mandy comedowns, really takes the edge off. Unless you plan to sleep in which case i'd say Valium.

Vitamin K always works for me though :-)
 
Pagey - I know a lot of you will probably dismiss it and I imagine OP is looking for drug-based help - which I'm all for - but something that really does help me get through tough comedowns is simply writing down what, at the moment, I feel is completely wrong in my life, and then simply, all feelings aside, jot down all the positive things that are atually going on at the minute. I know it sounds stupid and Dr.Phil-ish, but it really can help to get some perspective for certain people, like me. Worth a shot, if it doesn't help you then forget it, but it really is worth trying :)

mrcientist - as a counter point, approaching it from a purely chemical point of view, with the type of comedown that MD gives, I find that if I take some etiz (other benzos are available :p) alongside a weakish drink or two (NB, please do your research and be careful with that mix if anyone else is reading this advice), as you feel the end of the trip nearing, I find that that puts you in a position to have a pretty smooth comedown. Although personally, with tolerance, I'd boost the etiz to ~5mg-ish, and then lay back, and enjoy the afterglow/benzo combo, while regularly drinking water :) Sorry if this is a rehash of what you just said, but I thought I'd add my 2p :)

Pagey again: 5-HTP does more than you'd think. Worth bearing in mind :)
 
If you need to take a downer to cope with an MDMA comedown then you are taking to much MDMA or you are mixing it with other stimulants/alcohol etc, dehdryated or not looking after yourself in general.

I have never felt the need to have to do anything like that.
