(zyprex/15mg) Abilify vs Zyprexa

So I've been on zyprexa for about 5 months now for bipolar and it's been a miracle drug for me. I am naturally too skinny and in 4 months of taking zyprexa I gained 45 pounds and look and feel better than I have in years.

Lately I've been depressed. I also take Adderall 20mgs, Klonopin, 6 mgs, and Zoloft 100mgs a day. I feel like the zoloft isn't working like it used to.

My question is if I should try Abilify instead of Zyprexa. I've read that it works like a antidepressant and an antipsycotic too. If would be awesome to kill two birds with one stone. But I am scared I will lose weight. My doctor gave me a months worth of abilify and I'm wondering if I should take it on top of zyprexa and cut out the zoloft. J don't want to be on more than 4 meds and that is pushing it. Any advice would be tight.

If the Zyprexa is working wonders than why do you want to either switch the medication or add another medocation? Definitely discuss it with your doctor but it sounds like you have something that works right now.

Well Iv been generally depressed for a while. Not extremely but a lot of mornings I just don't want to get out of bed. I asked my doctor about upping my Adderal dose and he said he wouldn't then gave me a free sample of Abilify and said to try it. I don't want to take any more meds, I think 4 is a bit much if you ask me and I'm starting to get sick of it. I know Zoloft has taken away my sex drive which sucks no pun intended. I love my Kpins and Adderal and won't go off them so im considering stopping zoloft.

Does anybody know about Abilify and weight gain?

Abilify isnt as sedating as zyprexa but it is also far away from zyprexa in terms of gaining weight.
