I started taking Zyban (Wellbutrin) 4 weeks ago to stop smoking and was wondering if it would have a negative reaction with LSD or shrooms. If so, how long should I stop taking the Zyban before I trip? Thanks guys! ;-)

Yeah taking any sort of drug with docks antidepressants certainly makes you more vulnerable. Maybe just finish taking them first before you consider taking anything that could interact with them. I would'nt recommend that you came off them, took you're real drugs, and then go back on them again. I think this is a bit too choppy but it's you're choice..

There shouldn't be any problems with either shrooms or LSD - but I do NOT advise you stop taking the Zyban in order to trip... you need to weight your mental health over yer trip...

I'm on the same medication and dropped acid last weekend and had an amazing trip. There weren't any weird interactions that I noticed.
Wellbutrin is a weird anti-depressant, it doesn't inhibit the reuptake of seratonin or adrenaline like most do, so it would have little if any effect on almost any drug.
Wouldn't this belong in the psychedelics forum, too?

umm...
sure, bupropion doesn't inhibit serotonin or epinephrine reuptake, but what *does* it do? it inhibits dopamine reuptake (i think; it works on dopamine, for sure).
Wellbutrin (and this is probably something They don't want you to know) is very, very closely related to methcathinone, which in turn is very closely related to methamphetamine (including its effects). I'm not sure who thought up "hey, let's market this for smoking cessation", because it makes little to no sense, other than "maybe addiction is related to dopamine levels, so let's slightly increase this person's dopamine and hope the placebo effect will take care of the rest". they really might as well have used ketamine, which probably would have been more effective.
The dose of Zyban taken for smoking cessation is probably fairly small, but mixing Wellbutrin with any dopaminergic is not a recommended action. That being said, shrooms and acid aren't dopaminergics; but proceed cautiously in any case.
