hello. I tried to make a post about zopiclone recently but I posted it in the wrong area, then it got moved, then moved again, then closed. so here's attempt #2: slightly different topic.
In my ongoing hunt for the right antidepressant, I seem to be finding that only drugs that AREN'T labelled as antidepressants are the ones that work for me. Such as DXM, ketamine (well at least they're doing studies)... and, zopiclone?
(*btw, for you fellow Americans, I think your version of zopiclone is called eszopiclone or Lunesta.)
I'm prescribed zopiclone for insomnia, and it does the job well. I sleep through the night, and I wake up feeling rested, not a zombie. My curiosity gets the better of me at times though, so I've taken zopiclone a few hours before sleeping. Today I felt depressed ... the way I feel more often than not, and in frustration of having no desire to do anything at all.. I decided to pop a zope. Within 20-30 minutes my depression melted away. I mean I wasn't bouncing off the walls or anything. But I'd regained an interest in life, in people, the desire to make art, music, read books.. and I felt much more like myself, as if a wall had been taken down. In other words, it seemed to work quite well for me as an anti-depressant.
*I also find that it gives me an increased ability to focus.
Has anyone else experience any positive/anti-depressant-like effects from zopiclone?
