This summer, i was visiting a good friend whom i've known since we both were 7. While i have been experimenting with various psychoactive substances since i was 17, he had only smoked weed 3 times and not done any other substance besides alcohol. About 3 days before i went to visit him, he asked me if i could bring any psychedelics over. Living in Amsterdam, this seemed easy for me, but i was reluctant to have to smuggle any shrooms, acid or mescaline into Norway (which happens to be a fairly strict country drug-wise). However, i had insomnia about 3 months before the visit, and my doctor prescribed me with some zopiclone under the name Imovane. I had heard from a friend that you could trip out on it, even heard it was like taking a mild shroom trip. So i decided to bring that for the trip.
When we eventually were ready to try it out, we were sitting in his small apartment in Fredrikstad. His living room was small, but with several fun trip factors: he had 2 disco balls, a very trippy "village road" carpet (you know the kind you used to have in your baby room, with roads and houses in birds-eye vision) and several posters from various rock bands.
We took 3 tabs of 7.5mg zopiclone and a fenazon-caffeine tab each (the caffeine to keep us awake). We then waited for about 20 minutes before the drug started taking effect. The first thing i noticed was that waving my hands in front of my face was very mesmerizing, followed shortly by the little light spots in the roof, created by the disco lights, started moving and merging. I then felt a strong desire to get up and jump around, which then inevitably led me to looking down at the carpet; the roads started curving and meandering, and little dark spots started driving down along them, as if they were invisible cars of which you could only see the shadow underneath. When i looked at his Iron Maiden and KISS posters, it seemed they were popping out of the poster, but I also witnessed the backgrounds in full animation. And most surprisingly to me, he had a little green flashlight that when looked into and moved around, would leave a trail of colored patches, each of an entirely different color.
I think it's safe to say that zopiclone belongs in the psychedelics section of this forum. Please tell me if you disagree or if you've ever had any bad trips/side effects from this drug.
