Hi guys I have been suffering with extreme IBS symptoms for 18 months now. Intestinal pain is probably biggest symptom along with joint pain and the usual bad washroom stuff IBS sufferers deal with. I have had many test and everything comes back clean. I have tried probiotics but they made me feel worse.

Well I was doing some research today and it turns out Amitriptyline is known for helping IBS. I want to try it at a dose of 25 mg.

Also I am dealing with anxiety and I want to try to take Zopiclone for that. I used to take Clonazepam for anxiety but it turned me into a raging lunatic and I almost broke up with my g/f a couple of times. I had a couple of Zopiclones from a friend and they really chilled me out and didn't give me any rage. I would take 7.5 mg of Zopiclone and only 2 times a week maximum to avoid dependence.

This IBS pain and the other smyptoms have really been debilitating and I am trying to get my life back on track cause it's caused me not to do much the last year and a half. I am still passing my college courses but missing a lot of classes. But I am trying to get things back on track. Also I want to move in with my girlfriend next year and I really love her and I want to be as healthy as I can for her.

Sorry if i have rambled. What does this combo sound like to you?

Will I be able to get my family doctor to prescribe this for me?

Thank you kind ladies and gents.

I suffer with IBS too and my old gastro doc gave me lomotil a few years back. I had taken amitriptyline but not for IBS, it was for depression and helped me sleep. Don't think it really made much of a difference in my flare-ups. Best to ask your gastro doctor what he thinks will work best for you. I can't imagine taking zopiclone for anxiety, it's a hypnotic and will likely just make you tired. Again, this is something your doctor will need to decide. Hope you get some relief.
